I don't understand why they set the gangster free before tests of the gun came back!!??! Once in custody they only have so much time to charge / arraign or let him go. This same thing happened locally in the Matt Toste killing, you might remember. SRPD made arrests and the DA cut them loose within 48 hours for insufficient evidence. A year and a half later, they are all back in custody. The case apparently was weak, judging by what facts are in the linked article, and the San Francisco DA's office is notorious for dismissing just about any case that isn't open and shut. And SFPD books everyone they find even remotely connected with gang activity when they have the opportunity... getting painted with the big brush you could say. It helps build a pedigree on these mutts so that when you actually catch them good and dirty the gang enhancements are easier to reach. While they saved the taxpayers considerable money on a case they would have had a hard time winning, there are now three people dead. And again, the waters are muddy. This dude was in the car, but did he pull the trigger? As an aside... Joe O'Sullivan is just about the best criminal defense attorney in town. He doesn't come cheap, so these MS-13 characters must be spanking some major bank plying their wares to afford Mr. O'Sullivan's hourly rate.

Thanks for the explanation Big Dog. Let's hope these gangsters don't run or melt into the woodworks.
My heart goes out to the wife/Mother of this tragedy.

More on Gangs. More proof that Liberal California does not have the stones to tackle the problem our progressive friends created. Only neo-socialists would try to disarm our citizens while importing such vermin as MS-13 to wander our streets.
