I've been following the Lake County shooting case, the one that got moved to Martinez because the defendant, who is black, claimed that he couldn't get a fair trial in Lake County. So far, the homeowner, who shot two burglars in the back, has been protrayed by the defense as a white supremist and a drug addict. The officer who collected the evidence has been accused of being incompetent. The defendant is an innocent man who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
So far, the prosecution hasn't presented the evidence that the accused burglars beat the teenager in the house over the head with a baseball bat, and threatened the shooter's girlfriend with a shotgun. How could those two events possibly make the shooting justified, he asks.

I got into a lengthy discussion elsewhere on Mr. Horn's case and while his actions were found within Texas law with the grand jury returning "no bill", I still find those actions somewhat questionable.
But that's just me.
