Selected, not elected.
Count every vote.
Will of the people.
Rigged outcomes.
Back room deals by party bigwigs.
We're going to keep counting until we get it right.
Where/when have I heard that before? Hmm...

Well, it looks like Hillary is throwing in the towel. The Dems now get to hitch their wagon to a Senator who has only been in the Senate for 3 years, and has spent 2 of those years running for president. Can you say, "neophyte"? The telling line, though, is in the article from AP when it says, : This from the party that prides itself on multi ethnicity and tolerance. When it came time to actually apply those values to itself, the party pretty near tore itself apart.

yep, it's embarassing alright. with a fiasco like this how can one ever expect the democrats to run the white house? Hey, look who's leaving??!! So? Are you saying it's OK to be a flop because you accuse the guy who's leaving of being a flop? What's the difference? Wait! I know - the difference is that my taxes will go UP.

STOP THE PRESSES!!! hill hasn't given up yet. she vows to continue in some form or another. judging from her speech it sounds like she might be angling for the VP spot on the ticket. let's see what obama has to say about all this. his speech is coming up soon...

Wonder if this will end up splitting the Dems and giving us a third party. I can't see the clintonistas really making peace with the obamaheads. I see Sir Hilary fighting tooth and nail until the convention closes. And a lot of her supporters deciding to cast meaningless protest votes for greens, peace & freedom, etc.
I expect that Barry will offer Shir Hilary either the VP position on the ticket, or promise her some plum position like Sec. State, Treas, or HHS/

my god, if her were to put her in charge of health care! yikes! i listened to obama's speech. nothing new there. just another dreamy "everything will be peaches and cream when i'm in the white house" speech. he did take the opportunity to take a few swipes at mccain, though. with hillary's decision not to make any decisions (she's good at that) i think obama is in a very difficult situation. she strongly alluded to the fact that she has 18 million voters at her side and they will be real pissed off is she isn't somebody very important in this deal. on one hand obama would look as though he is bowing to the clintons if he asks her to be his running mate and on the other hand he is sure to lose if he doesn't. with many of her supporters ready to vote for mccain he is done. also, taking her on as vp is the only chance the DNC has of keeping the cracked party together. it is interesting to note that obama chose to make his "acceptance" speech in the same location as mondale made his concession speech in '84 after losing 49 states to 1. doh!

"it is interesting to note that obama chose to make his "acceptance" speech in the same location as mondale made his concession speech in '84 after losing 49 states to 1. doh." " And the same place from which McCain (Panama John) will make his acceptance speech. Kind of like AH using the rail car to accept the surrender of France that had been used for the German surrender in WWI.
I agree, Barry O. is kind of damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. But I can't see them all pulling together even if Sir Hilary is on the ticket. Maybe if he picked a gay albino vegan as a running mate...

Little Dick Morris has an interesting article running in The Hill for Wednesday morning, linked through to Real Clear Politics late tonight. Granted he hates Hillary for running his rear end out of the White House, but Morris (as usual) makes some very valid points. www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/06/no_menageatrois_for_obama.htmlThe best take yet I've heard about this election is that we're going to have... ** A Republican (Bob Barr) running as a Libertarian, ** A Democrat (John McCain) running as a Republican, ** A Socialist (Barack Obama) running as a Democrat.

I love to watch Obama speak. It gives me (and the American people) hope that one day we will have someone as intelligent, well-spoken, and transparent as he is in the White House. There's nothing wrong with hope. And regarding inexperience, he will surround himself with people more experienced than he in his deficient areas instead of succumbing to the cronyism that was Bush's downfall.
Whether or not he picks Hillary as VP is unimportant at this stage. If not picked, she will not run as an independent because she can see the dire need to have a Democrat back in the White House.
And please explain how you see Obama as a socialist. Is he trying to rid America of capitalism? NO.

There's nothing wrong with hope. And regarding inexperience, he will surround himself with people more experienced than he in his deficient areas instead of succumbing to the cronyism that was Bush's downfall. Intelligent, yes. Well spoken, absolutely. Transparent? Not a chance. While hope is a good thing, it is not a plan nor is it an agenda. If all he has to offer is hope and and giving lip service to "change", then he's going to quickly be recognized as being all hat and no cattle. As to cronyism... what is politics if not that. You write like Bush invented it. He can not pick Hillary as his running mate. See Dick Morris's column I linked elsewhere for the multitude of reasons. If Hillary does bow out, gracefully or not, she will give lip service to Obama's candidacy and party unity while in her heart she will be hoping for a McCain victory so she can go after him in 2012 and get the job she feels righteously entitled to. You're kidding, right? - Obama has pledged to fight a worldwide "war on poverty". Disregarding the fact that we haven't by some measures won that 40 year war in this country yet, such a struggle would involve a massive redistribution of wealth by government... taking it away from you and giving it to someone else. His "Global Poverty Act" bill was written to make us spend hundreds of billions of tax dollars in support of the UN's Millenium Goals, which are all about the socialistic re-distribution of wealth. - While in the rapture you may have missed his ties to the Democrat Socialists of America, self described as the "largest socialist organization in the United States" which endorsed him in his runs for Illinois State Senate. That group, in many ways, groomed him and this has largely been ignored. - His multi-decade embrace of the "liberation theology" of Rev. Wright and Father Pfleger, which is based on the the writings of Professor James Cone who believes merging Marxism with the Gospel will liberate African-Americans from the supposed economic slavery of "white" capitalism. "Together," he says, "black religion and Marxist philosophy may show us the way to build a completely new society." Cone was Wright's spritual mentor, just as Wright has been Obama's. - He's made noises, again largely ignored, about nationalizing some industries. That's straight out of Lenin's playbook. - His public positions seem to be rooted in a continuance and growth of the "let government be in charge and fix everything" philospohy. That is socialism pure and simple.

I love to watch Obama speak. To bad the first words out of his mouth this morning in his speech were a lie.
