specifically those washed up has-been actors and unfunny comedians who for whatever strange reason think we want to hear their political views. i've never been a fan of bill maher. never really thought he was even remotely funny. today i learned to hate the sorry POS: absolutely uncalled for.  |

He was fine until he got to the "funny" part. I would guess he is a strong Obama supporter.

Dennis Miller became unfunny the moment he turned Conservative. David Zucker's movies became unfunny the moment he turned Conservative.
I think Bill Maher is very funny. He carries on George Carlin's legacy of rational comedy.

He carries on George Carlin's legacy of rational comedy. i never thought dennis miller was all that funny, either. especially when he was on SNL. much like al franken. i couldn't name a zucker movie if my life depended on it. but this thread started with a post about bill maher. since you say nothing about the video above other than "i think he's funny," one is to assume then that you agree with him. do you really think US troops serve only to rape people in germany, japan, korea, etc.? the statement he made is waaaaaay out of line. while i was a life-long carlin fan the difference between him and maher is that carlin could make "funny" without being an absolute ass. |

I hadn't seen the video. I agree he took it too far and made an ass out of himself. He usually has some pretty good insight on politics, religion, etc.
