State Water Project increases allocation to 70 percent March 18, 2011, 01:24 AM California has plenty of water. Government, State and Federal, will not allow us to use it. By the time we get the100% allocation a significant number of farms will have been sold and developments planned. In other words, one of the reason food went up almost 4% in just one month is that our farms have been closed by government regulation for the land. "The 2011 State Water Project allocation has been increased to 70 percent of contractors' requests, up 10 percentage points from the January figure, the California Department of Water Resources says Wednesday. "As a result of recent precipitation and good water supply conditions, we have increased the allocation,” says DWR Director Mark Cowin." If we were most concerned about people, instead of fish, 100% allocation could be reached immediately. Until then this is one of the reasons California will stay in a Depression. www.capoliticalnews.com/blog_post/show/8025

With my walking and asking question around Spring Lake and the water company people I have leaned a ton. There are 4 or 5 big water tanks on the west paved path in the park. There were checking on the water aqueduct to Sonoma. With all my travels most were open water ways. So I asked does the water in those tanks supply Summerfied area? No, that's the start of the aqueduct to Sonoma. So that is Russian River water, yes.
I asked how about that water tank on the hillside in St. Francis. I thought that water came from that hill from a well. No that is Russian River water. When we first move out east they started to build Taco Village the nick name we gave the Spanish style stucco homes with tile roofs. The contractor would use the water from one of the the fire hydrants. If they shut the water off to fast that water pressure from the tank would bust the pipe under the street.
The stuff we don't know but learned a lot about the water going south toward LA and San Diego. As the news is only reported in there areas to keep things silent. From the 90's to now our southern state has built up lot of storage lakes while we here send it south. I think the last storage was Orville under Old man Brown.
I knew that Southern Cali paid less for their water than us, back in 1985 with all the water until 2000.
