saunterelle, hiding your head in the sand will not make the problem go away, even though you are very good at it.
But, it will be Israel that will deal with this one.

It's a damn good thing John McCain won't be elected President. For Iran, yes. For the world, I am not so sure that it will be a good thing.

Has that happened? NO Is that expected to happen? NO Were we wrong about Iraq? YES
Suggesting we should engage in another preemptive war is moronic. Didn't you learn your lesson the first time?

Saunterelle sez...
No, Saunterelle, the question is, "What are you suggesting?" Shall we wait until there's a mushroom cloud over the Middle East before we act? Iran has admitted it is making weapons-grade plutonium. Are you ready to swallow Ahmadinejad's explanation that a country that is sitting on billions of barrels of oil, oil that it could export to earn dollars, is instead spending billions of dollars developing nuclear power for electricity?
I submit that we've already made a down payment with the 3,000 innocent lives that were lost on 9/11. The world changed that day, Saunterelle. Get with the program. Stop living in a 9/10 world.

"I have NEVER Suggested a Pre-Emptive war." Then what are you suggesting? And how do you suggest we pay for it? How do we PAY for ANYTHING the country decides to do? If my taxes go up...so Israel doesn't become glass well I am okay with that. And you should be too. And the USA can make sure the oil still flows freely as it needs to for the WORLD to function, then so be it. Are you suggesting the country STOP FUNCTIONING...since I mean it costs money to function.

We were told that the money from the oil in Iraq would pay for the war there. Obviously, that never happened.
Our current war is bankrupting our country and forcing us to borrow from China which will probably come back to haunt us. Starting another war would be a horrible idea. Of course, if we are forced into a situation where we have to fight we will, but our preemptive strategy has thus far proven to be worthless.

Yeah your right STOPPING a MAD MAN BEFORE HE NUKES A COUNTRY - would be bad for the economy =/.
Tell that to the dead and dying Jewish People from Israel AFTER I'm-A-Dinner-Jacket , does what he will with them.
We have been borrowing from China for YEARS AND YEARS MANY MANY YEARS PRIOR TO GWB!!

We were told that the money from the oil in Iraq would pay for the war there. Obviously, that never happened. When were we told that? Links please. News flash.... what we are spending on the war is a pittance compared to what government is spending elsewhere. The entire budget of the Department of Defense, including supporting the war fighters, is barely 3% of GDP. That is where it was at under the parsimonious Carter administration, and is barely above where it was during the Clinton administration. And Senator Obama has proposed cutting the military even deeper. What pre-emptive strategy. There was nothing pre-emptive about Afghanistan. Nor was there anything pre-emptive about Iraq. Mark me on this... Israel is going to go after the Iranian nuclear program, just as it did to Iraq's and Syria's, the latter just recently. The Israelis are on the front line, and as a soverign state have the right to defend themselves and their interests. The crazy mullahs running Iran are loose cannons who believe that all Jews must die and that any other peoples that do not convert willingly to their brand of Islam must be put to the sword. What part of that threat doesn't sink in?
