I want Mink and saunterelle to explain to me why so many Democrats are being prosecuted in this obvious scam. I thought theirs was the party with the moral compass for us all to follow.
After all, ex-minority whip Veon was a leader of the party, until he voted to not rescind the outrageous raises they gave themselves, of which he was the author of the bill.

I've never claimed that any politicians are perfect. I simply consider Democrats to be the lesser of two evils.

Bet you didn't read the article, or the long, long list of Democrats that are being indicted for this financial fiasco.

I could whip out a long list of corrupt Republicans but what's the point? They're corrupt on both sides. But like I said, the Democrats are the lesser of two evils.

Well why didn't you just admit you did not read the article. It goes right to the heart of the problem, money. The real point is this, when it comes to real graft and corruption, it is easy to find if you look. Regardless of what they put after their name, they should suffer prison. The funny thing about it is, you won't read it, but you will say Republicans are the greater of two evils, which means you are resorting to bigotry again.
Unlike you, I believe any Republican who is caught doing such things should loose their right to belong to the party. You, on the other hand, refuse to acknowledge the truth and even read the list of democrats revealed in current affairs. Perhaps if you did not keep your head in the sand, and just follow party dogma, you might learn something. But somehow I think you love to wallow in your ignorance.

Did you not read my statement that they are corrupt on both sides? The Republicans just happen to be the biggest hypocrites. Always touting their "moral integrity" they are often the ones found in the bathroom with a "wide stance."

There you go again, allowing your bigotry to run your brain. I am not a hypocrite. In fact, the biggest hypocrites, reveling in their hypocrisy, is the Democrats that voted for the war and blame Bush.
What this story shows is that the Democrats involved have no integrity, period. And, it is pretty wide spread. I also notice that you still have not claimed to read the articles.

Bonusgate arraignments begin By Angela Couloumbis INQUIRER HARRISBURG BUREAU HARRISBURG - Most of the 12 people charged in Thursday's sweeping Bonusgate charges were arraigned throughout the morning today on charges that they were part of a culture in the Capitol that condoned using taxpayer dollars to underwrite political campaigns. Many of the defendants were brought into court with their hands cuffed behind their backs, including former House Democratic Whip Michael Veon, who prosecutors allege was the mastermind of the scheme to dip into public money for personal and political gain. Upon exiting the courthouse, Veon politely declined to comment to the hoard of reporters gathered outside, saying he would do so "another time, another place." He was followed into court later by Rachel Manzo, a House staffer whose husband, Michael Manzo, was chief of staff to House Majority Leader William DeWeese. Manzo was charged with participating in the scheme to use state legislative employees in political campaigns, and also with hiring a 21-year-old grad student - also his girlfriend - for a largely no-show job. Each arrived in handcuffs. Bail for Mike Veon was set at $50,000 by District Judge Joseph S. Solomon. In all, the state Attorney General's Office charged 12 people, including a sitting lawmaker. All were expected to appear before Harrisburg District Judge Joseph S. Solomon by the end of the day. Prosecutors allege that the conspiracy within the House Democratic caucus was widespread and ranged from handing out taxpayer-funded bonuses for campaign work to using state computers and telephones for political and personal purposes. A number of those charged are accused of doing largely, or only, political work while on the government clock. sourcePlease note the lack of coverage by the National Media. I wonder why? Wouldn't want to hurt the party.

The AP Story, which is not picked up anywhereA quote from the article, "Robert G. Del Greco Jr., Veon's lawyer, said Thursday that Veon has consistently asserted his innocence." I am sure James Traficant claimed the same thing, but he serving an eight year sentence.

I could whip out a long list of corrupt Republicans but what's the point? They're corrupt on both sides. But like I said, the Democrats are the lesser of two evils. That, as the saying goes, is your opinion. Yes there is corruption on both sides of the aisle, and at all levels. So how about we just vote them ALL out of office and start with a clean slate?

Darn good suggestion. Since all of our Representatives for this area are Democrats, lets have a change. We have been suffering under their yoke long enough.
