First of all what I am about to write requires that you trust my opinion, and stop the knee jerk responses so please just think about it. I know you all don't REALLY know me, but I think I've shared enough of my opinions that speak of my morality and ability to see more than one side to a story. If nothing else try to read the following with a different pair of colored glasses.
If you think about it basic stereotypes don't apply to Michael Jackson. As a child he was forced from the age of five to work endlessly and if he resisted he was beaten by his father. If you think about your own childhoods how do you think you've learned to share, laugh and play, defend yourself against a bully and conflict resolution, or basic skills to navigate freely in society learning natural consequences along the way. Michael Jackson was instead isolated from such experiences and didn't develop emotionally leaving an empty space in his soul.
To compound Michael Jackson's loneliness and desire to isolate he became more and more famous and as a result people encroached upon his personal space, and deciphering friend from foe would be confusing and impossible with limited experience of the world
as we all know it.
He wasn't "normal" for sure, but I don't think he was sexually turned on by children. I feel he was searching to fill the emotional void he had, and as he put it children are made up of "innocence and purity." I think he finally felt free to be playful around people that didn't want something from him, and children don't generally have dishonest intentions and baggage. I think he'd finally found a platform to be free like a child and to have a organic mutual exchange that wasn't tainted, or so he thought.
If you read through the text in Wikipedia (
* see link below) regarding the infamous Chandler case with an open mind you may question the father's intent.
The following is a good example:On July 2, 1993, in a private telephone conversation, Chandler was tape recorded as saying,
"There was no reason why he [Jackson] had to stop calling me...I picked the nastiest son of a bitch I could find [Evan Chandler's lawyer, Barry Rothman], all he wants to do is get this out in the public as fast as he can, as big as he can and humiliate as many people as he can. He's nasty, he's mean, he's smart and he's hungry for publicity. Everything's going to a certain plan that isn't just mine. Once I make that phone call, this guy is going to destroy everybody in sight in any devious, nasty, cruel way that he can do it. I've given him full authority to do that. Jackson is an evil guy, he is worse than that and I have the evidence to prove it. If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever...Michael's career will be over."[2]
—Evan Chandler
In the same conversation, when asked how this would affect his son, Chandler replied, "That's irrelevant to me...It will be a massacre if I don't get what I want. It's going to be bigger than all us put together...This man [Jackson] is going to be humiliated beyond belief...He will not sell one more record".[2] The recorded conversation was a critical aspect of Jackson's defense against the upcoming allegation made against him. He and his supporters argue that he was the victim of a jealous father whose only goal was to extort money from the singer."[2]
In early August, Chandler, a registered dentist, extracted a tooth from his son's mouth, and was later forced to admit that he used the controversial sedative sodium Amytal during the procedure.[1] Under the influence of the drug, Jordan alleged that Jackson had touched his penis. Experts state that the drug sodium Amytal "makes patients extremely susceptible to suggestions".[1] Dr Lewis Strong, a Los Angeles psychiatrist stated, "You can't trust it, I never use it in my practice. I have found it to be unreliable. It's certainly not a truth serum".[1] Dr Kenneth Gottlieb, a San Francisco psychiatrist who has used the drug, stated, "I would never want to use a drug that tampers with a person's unconscious unless there was no other drug available, and I would not use it without resuscitation equipment in case of allergic reaction".[1]
More Examples: Two tabloid television shows accepted confidential leaked documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Children's Services for $20,000.[9] A number of Jackson's former employees—most of whom had worked at his ranch—sold stories to the tabloids of alleged prior sexual misconduct on Jackson's part, instead of reporting their claims to police. One couple initially asked for $100,000 claiming that Jackson sexually caressed Macaulay Culkin. They were prepared to expand upon this allegation for a fee of $500,000, whereby they would allege that Jackson put his hands down Culkin's pants. When the story broke, Culkin strongly denied the allegation, and did so again in court.[30] A former security guard made various allegations about Jackson, saying he was fired because he "knew too much",[32] and alleged that he was ordered by Jackson to destroy a photo of a naked boy. Instead of reporting this to police, Hard Copy accepted the story in return for $150,000.[32] Afterwards, Jackson's maid, Branca Francia, alleged that she "quit in disgust" after seeing Jackson in a shower with a child, but did not inform the police. It later emerged that Francia was actually fired in 1991, but nevertheless sold her story to Hard Copy for $20,000.[32]
...................................................................................................Sadly, people like Jackson that are "different" and wealthy are easy targets for media extortion. Read through this Wikipedia link and try to sort through all of his legal trouble and how many people used the media and Jackson to make money for themselves including his own sister LaToya:
*en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_child_sexual_abuse_accusations_against_Michael_Jackson Another point to consider, do you REALLY think that person under such microscopic scrutiny would repeatedly invite young boys to his bed for sex?
He said in an interview several years ago that if you want to know who he really is read the words of a song he had written "Childhood:"
Childhood lyrics:Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for the world that I come from
'Cause I've been looking around
In the lost and found of my heart...
No one understands me
They view it as such strange eccentricities...
'Cause I keep kidding around
Like a child, but pardon me...
People say I'm not okay
'Cause I love such elementary things...
It's been my fate to compensate,
for the Childhood
I've never known...
Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like pirates in adventurous dreams,
Of conquest and kings on the throne...
Before you judge me, try hard to love me,
Look within your heart then ask,
Have you seen my Childhood?
People say I'm strange that way
'Cause I love such elementary things,
It's been my fate to compensate,
for the Childhood I've never known...
Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like fantastical stories to share
The dreams I would dare, watch me fly...
Before you judge me, try hard to love me.
The painful youth I've had
Have you seen my Childhood...
.....................................................................................................I think his life while viewing from the outside of the fish bowl seemed ideal was riddled with sadness, loneliness, isolation and people that wanted to take what they could from him, even his own family. I think his life was tragic in many ways, and it is another example that money doesn't buy one happiness, or make a person whole.
I am not a Michael Jackson fanatic and that is not the intent of this lengthy post, but I can't help but feel calling him a pedophile, pederast or anything else that points to a deviant behavior is not accurate.
