Harpman1, are you one of those soldiers? Why do you say the soldiers "lost"? They were brave, in fact anyone who fought in Vietnam was brave and so was Cronkite for being on the front with soldiers.

His dishonest spin and blatantly false reporting disheartened the public and the soldiers, and emboldened the enemy.
That used to be called "giving aid and comfort", and would get you executed. He gets lauded by the Red elites he spent his career trying to impress, while the soldiers he lied about get spit on and marginalized.
Walter was a whore; more interested in impressing the Park Avenue and Georgetown Swells than doing his job with accuracy.
If you liked Cronkite, you loved Walter Duranty.
