Big Dog, you bring up a very good point. Why should the United States destroy ourselves so a few million can get health care?
Prior to this, people were against those without healthcare going to the ER because we had to pay for it.
Lost healthcare benefits isn't a brand new issue as this trend has been ongoing for years now, so what is the answer?

Capitalism is the answer.
A free market approach is the answer to all issues of supply and demand.
It's the only system that creates wealth, rather than consuming it.
That fact has been proven so many times, it is remarkable that everyone does not fully understand it.

your american idol has lost millions of jobs on his watch (only 6 1/2 mos) and plenty more to come. what is he doing to stop it? nothing. he doesn't want it to stop. unemployed people need the gov't. that's exactly what the socialist (or n-word if you prefer) want.

Obama's Health Care Bill a "job killer" for small bussinesses. House Health Plan Outlines Higher Taxes on Rich By ROBERT PEAR and DAVID M. HERSZENHORN Published: July 14, 2009 (Quote) A partial, preliminary estimate by the Congressional Budget Office said it would cost slightly more than $1 trillion over 10 years to expand coverage as provided in the House bill. But Democrats said the cost would be fully offset by proposed savings in Medicare and other health programs and by revenue-raising changes in federal tax laws. Douglas W. Elmendorf, director of the budget office, said that by 2019 the bill could reduce the number of people without health insurance by 37 million, leaving 17 million still uninsured. Nearly half of the uninsured would be illegal immigrants, Mr. Elmendorf said. In a letter to lawmakers, major business organizations described the 1,018-page bill as a job-killer. They said its coverage mandate would automatically increase the cost of hiring a new worker. (End Quote) www.nytimes.com/2009/07/15/health/policy/15health.htmlHalf of the 17 million left without insurance are illegal aliens. I'm sure Obama has plans for them when he says he's going to fix the immigration problem right after he straightens out the Health Care problem. BTW, Obama's approval rating is down to 48%.

Well I guess Rep Woolsey's town hall meeting has been held.
Although I sent repeated questions to her office asking about the time, date, and location, her staff somehow ignored my requests and Woolsey held her tel-town hall meeting without any bothersome distractions.

(I tend to worry about those that refer to themselves in the third person)
The Press Democrat was kind enough to report this on the front page of today’s PD
I guess the reason I missed this tel-townhall meeting is that I must not be apart of her preferred mailing list. One can only surmise since I haven't listen to a recording of it that it contains all the DNC talking points and the now customary 12-year-old shill asking a pointed question.
BTW, Obama’s approval rating is down another point… 47%
When asked if she was avoiding face-to-face confrontations, Woolsey replied: "No one can accuse Lynn Woolsey of running scared."

imagine that.
but realistically, lynn doesn't need to meet with her constituents. her district is so damn blue that she could be caught smoking crack, shaking a baby, and fondling little boys and she would still be reelected.
people like mink and santurelle will ensure that.

And then you click your heels thre times and wake up. If they can't exclude illeagls now, how the heck can a brand new dinosaur of a burrocracy (sic) exclude them? "Deficit neutral" - fancy way of saying that we won;t go in the hole anymore than we do now. And how will they do this? Well, have to gather more money. How does the govt. gather more money? T A X, T A X, T A X. Mink, you have whined about govt. waste and inefficency. Why do you suddenly change and believe that they can run a massive health care plan efficently? Subdjoe, I'm merely giving my feedback here......calm yourself. I support a health plan because there are too many citizens without healthcare. The fact that the bill excludes illegals is a step in the right direction...... Heckheckle, this is all I have to offer so no link or reference for me to guide you to Capttankona, do you have a link? Asking for links again are we? Incapable of exercising your brain and doing your own work are we? I will not provide links to a person who is incapable of intelligent discussion. Get you own God Damned links. It is called the internet and world wide web. The CBO has it's own God Damned website, use it. Hell, stop by the OMB website while you are at it an look up exactly what happened to our debt when the Democrats got power, they doubled the rate at which our debt was incurred. No Mink, never ask me for a God Damned link again, you are not serious when you do it anyway. It is just one more ploy to hide the fact that you are just to Damned ignorant to engage in adult conversations. I certainly hate to think you are indicitive of the Democrat Party, but evidence is certainly suggesting it is made up of sheeple just like you.

There's your Damn link you lazy, feckless socialist. Now go lookup the CBO and OMB. Maybe, if you were not so tied to the hip of the DNC you would learn something. But, judging by your inability to use your own computer for anything more then one liners, I somehow doubt you will learn a damn thing.

So perhaps Mink or another progressive comrade can explain this particular flaw in the health care crisis mongering? That would be Clark County, Nevada.... better known as Las Vegas. Now when the economy is so far in the tank that people are not going to Vegas to drop Junior's college fund into the poker slots and their mortgage payment on the blackjack tables all those wonderful "free" programs all of a sudden become a major pain the financial ass. So can someone... Mink, Saunterelle, anyone, explain to me when these "free" services can not be absorbed and paid for now, just how is bringing them into the insurance pool going to solve it? After all, it's not like the illegals and the indigent are going to be paying premiums into the system, is it?
