"President Bush said he would sign it promptly, despite reservations." Bush, a man of great conviction. LOL. Considering Obama's campaign finance manager is one of the key figures in creating the financing that brought about the current housing crisis, I could say the same thing. After all, it is primarily the housing crisis and the energy crisis brought about the lack of a comprehensive energy policy that created the current pending recession. Democrats are at the bottom of both of these. |

You completely ignored the facts I posted and the argument I made and jumped right into a personal attack based on the short bit of background info I gave on myself. You assume I must be a victim because you don't like what I had to say. It would never occur to you that I am actually a survivor. As for my "bonifides" I no longer feel a need to share any personal information with you .. besides, you wouldn't believe it anyway as it flies in the face of what you WANT to believe. My "rant" compared to your overstated opinion in this thread .. what happened to a forum for discussion of the issue? After the personal attack, I see nothing but restating your original position. Did you even read anything beyond my personal information? No. Perhaps it is your bonifides I should be asking for because you all sound like the dumbest bunch of backwoods hicks I have ever heard from. You make an aweful lot of assumptions about a person simply because they disagree with your point of view. You ignore their arguments. You attack me as if you know anything about me or how I conduct my life and you know this because I have had a rough life? Newsflash- not everyone who has had a rough life is a victim. Did I say anyone owes me anything? It occurs to me my effort is wasted here as you really just want a place where you can rant and carry on as victims who are being expected to support the entirety of every liberal reform package. Perhaps this is why you attacked me personally because you feel the need to lash out at liberals who are milking you dry. Too bad I'm not a liberal. I'm very disappointed in what I had hoped would be a place to discuss the issues and gain a deeper understanding by ALL of the complexity of the problems we face. My "rants" won't do much good here and I certainly can't listen to those who don't respect my opinion. So, goodbye and have fun. You really have nothing to fear from illegal immigration, job outsourcing, corporate price gouging and welfare, unethical banking, collapsing markets, government corruption and destruction of the Planet. It doesn't effect you ... yet. You certainly must believe it never will. Only the poor are suffering. The poor always suffer. If you want to whine and complain that you were attacked and no one understands you then that's your choice. The latter, however, is not a good mindset to go through life with. |

We responded to your posts, then you attacked everyone who did not fall over themselves agreeing with you when you used phrases such as undeducated and ignorant. And, nice to see that you are a mind reader, able to know what I want to believe. Elberethe, I hope you won't leave the forum, as everyone's participation is what makes this forum interesting. Naturally, because you do speak up, you can expect to hear from this crowd and generally, you hit it one the nose......, they gang up when a differing opinion pops up.....yet won't admit it. Sorry guys, but it's true and you know it! The beauty of this place is, you can catch them in a subtle admiitance, every once in a while  Please stay |

Mink, there is a big difference between ganging up on someone, and a bunch of indivisuals expressing similar opinions. Ganging up is that progressives do in public meetings when they literally shout down opposing opinions. I have been on the receiving end of that treatment often enough here in Oh, so tolerant, diverse, and inclusive sonoma county.
And I have seen 'progressives" trying to disrupt meetings of a conservative nature. They don't get shouted down. Usually they get to say their say and are then asked to leave. Usually they see what asses they are being and leave. I think the difference in attitude is interesting - those who profess to be tolerant, diverse, and inclusive aren't. Those who popular culture claim are intolerant, monolithic, and exclusive, tend to allow all to have their say, even if they don't agree. That whole freedom of speech thing. Progressives should try it sometime.

sigh.........that's the best you can do?? Who? What? If you are refereing to my last post, it beats the heck out of your usual stock in trade of "It's Bushs fault" or "Big Oil". And I tried to clear up the difference between 'ganging up' and people expressing similar opinions. I also gave some examples of how the oh, so tolerant, diverse, and inclusive "progressives" here in Sonoma county operate. |
