What happend to the 3 Rs? I have to agree with TNG, creeping, wide spread socialism. Plus a big dose of relativism, the bankrupt self esteem movement, and a whole lot more leftist BS indoctrination to turn the electorate from free and soverign citizens into bread and circuses subjects beholden to an all powerful State for everything.

Give me a break here. We have politicians from both parties who are guilty of this, so please, point the finger/s at all of them. I know you know this because you are so smart.

Sorry, Mink. No can do. Most, if not all, of the BS I mentioned comes from the feel good about everything, relativsit left.

No, I'm saying that the education industry is so top heavy with leftist social engineers it is like trying to dismantle the Great Pyramid with a toothpick to get the social engineering out, and teaching the basics and some fiscal responsibility in. Until we can break the hold the ivory tower botique liberals have on the education industry, we can't expect things to improve. This is another example of the incrimentalism of the left. One little step at a time, and pretty soon responsibility and self discipline are replaced by the feel good relativism that permiates the education industry now.
About 10 years ago I was going to lend some books to a class my step-son was in as suplimetary reading to help fill some gaps the text books had, I think it was 7th grade. The books were just above Sunday supliment level. The teacher flipped through them and said "Oh, these are word books! They might be too hard for the students." I had to ask what the hell "word books" were. Imagine asking a 7th grader to be able to understand something only slightly more complicated than a news paper. And <gasp> almost no pictures! Pick up Dr. R. Feynmans autobiograph (Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman is the title I think). REad the part where he gets onto a board to review textbooks.

So, basically, the so-called "let's conserve, but take them to the bank" right, has done nothing to counter, therefore leaving the Democrats responsible for our lack of education.
