Why hasn't she been hit with windfall profit taxes and stripped of most of her money? She could live just as well on 2.7 million as on 2.7 billion.

I guess her bones have noticed the ratings drop too? Plus, her bones probably was there when she inked the deal to start the Oprah Network and understood it meant closing shop on the Oprah show. Seems her bones knows what goes on.
But for those who still feel a need for a daily dose of boo hoo there is still DR.Phil Judge Someone the View ect. ;D

mrbose, if I want to "boo-hoo" I read the news online. Men setting their girlfriends and children on fire, children raped, killed, and thrown into landfills, mass shootings, families losing their jobs/homes, family owned businesses closing after decades, it goes on, and on...
I almost can't take it anymore!

OK, she overcame a hard childhood - lots of people do that.
She worked hard and built an empire. Some do that. And the left usually bashes them for it.
She brought tabloid TV to a new level.
Yes, she has used a very small portion of her vast wealth for philanthropic purposes, but I get the feeling from her that she really doesn't give a damn, she does it more because it is expected of her than real conviction.

Subdjoe, if Oprah's talk show focused on the tabloids, she would not have garnered so much support for her foundation/network to help so many people nationally and worldwide.

Mink, I did not say that her focus is on the tabloids. I said she brought tabloid TV to a new level, following in the steps of Phil Donohue. So, what has she done that makes you ga-ga over her? Who's going ga-ga over her? I am sharing some big news here. Oprah is an icon and has influenced and helped people nationally and worldwide. She is not just a talk show host, but has given much of herself and earnings for the benefit of others. She represents America in a good light and is a powerful woman.

Why am I down on her? She is just another hollow shell pushing a the lefts agenda, getting rich while telling others to dig down and give till it hurts. She gives others opportunities they would not have had such as an education or health. See her Foundation and Network
If she wasn't rich, how can she help others? Besides, she worked for every penny, but isn't greedy. She is intelligent and generous, thoughtful and caring yet never forgot where she came from which makes her humble.

You don't get the double standard, do you? She has pushed the extortionate 'windfall' tax idea as applied to Big Oil, or coal, or any other un-p/c industry. Yet she doesn't apply that standard to herself. And the left doesn't call her on it. If she is so in favor of all the leveling the politicians she supports preach, why isn't she leading by example? Nope. She rakes it in just like dem debil pubbies and corporate robber barons do. Double standard.
