McCain had "no comment" on Edwards' affair. He knows that if he says anything it will dredge up his own unethical behavior like when he cheated on (and later left) his first wife for the younger trophy wife Cindy.

Once again, "yeah, but the other guy does it too" sums up liberal response to Democrats behaving like scumbags.
Do you have anything to say about Edwards?
Anything at all?

I don't see why we are supposed to be shocked about things like this. In general people who aspire to positions of power have very strong urges. Also, many women are drawn to men in positions of power - survival instinct, people in power tend to be wealthy, thereby insuring (or at least increasing the chances of) the survival of any offspring.
Now, how they treat everyone involved is another matter. And how they react when called on it.

It is unacceptable behavior, regardless of which political persuasion or financial class, period!

Well there are things in the story of Edward's infidelity to his wife that are far more disturbing, and appear to be going largely unreported by the 527 Media just as the original story itself lived quietly inside a world populated by crickets for many months...
** Senator Edwards hired Ms. Hunter with campaign money to make documentaries about him for the campaign. While that act in and of itself is not unethical, the fact that he was apparently shagging her rotten before during and after the hiring is very unethical, and quite possibly illegal as it relates to use of campaign funds.
** Senator Edwards, apparently, used campaign funds to keep his concubine ensconced in a multi-million dollar home in Santa Barbara. That would be, if true, utterly illegal.
I don't particularly care one way or the other whether he is the child's father, as that is business between him, his concubine, the child, his family and what ever God he prays to. What I care greatly about is the allegation of illegal use of campaign funds to keep his concubine holed up and silent. Those allegations need to be investigated, and at that right quickly.
So long as those allegations remain uninvestigated and are kept quiet, his political career may still be salvageable.
His soul and honor, on the other hand, are long gone and ain't never coming back.

It is unacceptable behavior, regardless of which political persuasion or financial class, period! I didn't say it was acceptable. I just don't understand all the shock and hand wringing over it. I agree with Big Dogs last post - we need to look into misuse of funds, and if he used his positon as her boss to pressure her.

One of my sayings during the last presidential elections was "I would rather have Bush then two Johns." Edwards proved me right.

Are you sure bolverk? Edwards' affair didn't cost people their lives. Bush's blunders did.

This sorry excuse for a husband & a man lied. lied, lied to the American public all year long, as he campaigned seeking to earn our trust.
Pres. Bush did exactly what he said he would do, and still is. Zero dishonesty.
Bush, Bush, Bush.
Does this good man disturb your sleep, too?
How does one spell obsession?
Will it fade after Jan. 2009?

Are you sure bolverk? Edwards' affair didn't cost people their lives. Bush's blunders did. No, Clintons blunders, especially in cutting back on intellegence, cost thousands of lives. Bush was just trying to clean up the mess.
