It is unacceptable behavior, regardless of which political persuasion or financial class, period! I didn't say it was acceptable. I just don't understand all the shock and hand wringing over it. I agree with Big Dogs last post - we need to look into misuse of funds, and if he used his positon as her boss to pressure her. I hardly think he pressured her.....maybe it was the case of a woman mixing with polical power as you mentioned earlier, however misuse of funds should be investigated.

It is unacceptable behavior, regardless of which political persuasion or financial class, period! Absolutely agree. And based on what I've seen, BOTH PARTIES are just as guilty. There is not a single politician that I trust -- the majority of them will say whatever needs to be said to get them elected. Or lie out of their teeth to save their bottom.

the way she talks about her inevitable marriage to john she reminds me of that crazy lady from fatal instinct (wasn't that the movie with that psycho chick?) who was obsessed with the leading man.

Are you trying to insinuate that Rielle Hunter is some kind of bunny boiler?I just figured that having slept with Senator Edwards for money she was just a simple whore.

I will name one prominent Republican for you, Newt Gingrich. Who, by the way, did the only acceptable and honorable thing, he resigned. Do you think Edwards will, or will he take the low road, like Clinton did.

Edwards isn't holding any office right now, so unless he is going to resign life then there isn't much he can do other than go back home and hunker in the bunker for the rest of his life.
Which, on balance, might be an honorable thing for him to do.

are you kidding!? this ecsapade officially rockets edwards to star status in the democratic book! this actually punches his ticket as far as they are concerned (after all, his deceipt didn't "kill" anyone, right mink?). he is now primed for the VP position on the demo ticket. if you need examples just look at marion barry, ray nagin, and william j. jefferson (watch him get re-elected again) just to name a few.

IMHO, this scandal has the Clintons' fingerprints all over it. Remember what they did to Henry Hyde and Bob Livingston after Clinton was impeached in the House? That low life, Larry Flint, made no bones about the fact that he was offering $1 million to anyone who could dig up some dirt on the Republican leaders. I don't recall the Clinton White House condemning this man.
The question then becomes, "What did Edwards do to deserve this?" Was he getting too uppity with the Democrat Party? Did he somehow envision a role for himself at the convention that might possibly overshadow Hillary?
Remember, the Clintons are not easily embbarassed. There is no level too low for them to stoop to. If the silly Dem voters in NY would stop sending Hillary back to the Senate, maybe the Clintons would just fade away.

If the Clinton's launched it pre-emptively then the timing couldn't have worked out better. The Enquirer has been working the story since last year.
I do believe wholeheartedly, however, that the Clinton machine is behind the Obama birth certificate story.

What Edwards did is wrong, no doubt. I don't condone his behavior, but since you guys are pointing fingers, look into your own party. Shall I name some names? What would that do? "It's OK for him.... not ok for him", it is unacceptable, period. I hope the SOB never gets over this....just like any philanderer, male or female! What is more important than the public face he squandered, is the dishonor to his family.
