So Ashburn gets busted for DUI. Okay, that's not good, but that's not the point of this thread. IN reading about him, it seems that he might be gay. He's been seen at gay bars in Sacramento. Okay, so what? Again, not the point of the thread.
Apparently he has consistently voted against gay rights and he's being called a hypocrite for it. He represents a VERY conservative area, and seems to me that he's voting for what his constituents would want him to, regardless of his personal feelings on the issues.
That makes him just maybe the most noble and honest politician I've heard about for some time. Votes against how he might personally believe because the people who voted him into office might see it differently!
