I stole this from a different forum.
Good Logic
So, I was talking to this little girl Catherine, the daughter of some friends, and she said she wanted to be President some day.?? Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there with us - and I asked Catherine - "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?"
Catherine replied - "I would give houses to all the homeless people."
"Wow - what a worthy goal you have there, Catherine."? I told her, "You don't have to wait until you're President to do that, you can come over to my house and clean up all the dog poop in my back yard and I will pay you $5 dollars. Then we can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $5 dollars to use for a new house."
Catherine (who was about 4) thought that over for a second, while her mom looked at me seething, and Catherine replied, "why doesn't the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog poop and you can just pay him the $5 dollars?"
And I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party".

Pubbies, eh? You mean like Pelosi? I guess her restaraunts count as public houses, and that makes her a publican.
Now, why is it that YOU and other 'progressives" can use slurs like 'pubbies' freely, but if a conservative uses a word like 'fascilib" we get reviled for it? Can you say double standard?

"Look at the pot calling the kettle black"......Oh so tolerant... Ah, but therein lies the difference - I don't claim to be Oh, so tolerant, diverse, and inclusive like the liberals do. I don't shout down opposing views and ideas. I'm willing to let people pretty much do as they wish so long as they don't violate or infringe on the rigths of others. So, is that the best you can do?

What do you mean, Mink? The left makes a big point about how tolerant it is, and how diverse and inclusive (withness the politics of division practiced by the left - encouraging every little group to see itself as something special and deserving of some special laws and benefits, thereby setting group against group), while at the same time quite literally shouting down any opposition voices and shutting out those who dare to think for themselves. I'm willing to stand up and say No, that is just plain WRONG to some things that the left supports. That causes the oh so tolerant, diverse and inclusive left to resort to hate speech and call me mysoginist, homophobe, bubba, redneck, bigot, cracker, etc. ad nauseum, and quite literally try to shout me down.
In fact, your last few posts have basically been telling me to shut up. You don't offer any counter to my statements. Reminds me of the staff at some of our elected representatives offices - shut up, don't bother us with opposing views, we have our minds made up and don't want any outside input. You don't happen to work or Lynn or Babs, do you?
Yep, the left sure is tolerant. Yep, yep.

Registerd dem, yes. But not a leftist. Every time I take one of the 'where do you fall in the political spectrum' tests, I'm pretty much smack dab in the middle, both X & Y axes (axises??). I keep hoping the Dem leadership will move back to the middle. I do know that the rank and file in most of the rest of the country is fed up with the extreme left being in control of the party.
So, what was your point, Mink? That as a registed Dem. I'm not allowed to deviate from the leftist party line? Thanks for making my point for me.
