it always amazes me how people with absolutely no experience or understanding at all of warfare love to project themselves as experts on the subject. perhaps a little light reading on the german werwolves (werewolves) could help you realize that almost all wars come with insurgencies. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werwolfp.s. hopefully you didn't choke on your own puke but while you refuse to give GWB any credit for keeping this nation safe for the last 7 years i'm sure you would have been the first to assign him the blame in the event of another attack, right? of course, you would.

Please explain the encouragement for buying Hummers by the conservatives post 9/11. How did that fit into this shortage? Why did our own governor reduce his own supply of Hummers after he was elected ? Why, because they are gas guzzlers. Why did the bush administration encourage the country to spend money like nothing happened post 9/11? (the excuse was to "pretend" that the terrorists actions didn't faze us)......wow, now we are in an energy crisis and the Republicans are pointing fingers. what is all this drivel??? mink, do you ever proofread your posts? apparently not. you can't possibly be using your gray matter to come up with this stuff. subdjoe, i've got to give you an exaltation for continuing to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

Have your fun as you criticise, however, you never addressed the Hummer issue/ Gov. Arnold's ridding of some of his fleet Hummers/ bush's encouraging the country to spend, spend, spend......etc. the list goes on and on and on....
BTW, Clinton is long gone. Bush had almost 8 years with a Republican majority Congress (for the majority of his time) and look what happened to the country? Sorry, I just don't see how Republicans can point the finger at Democrats for the current energy crisis.

All can see that gas was not an issue until 1/2007. Prices were reasonable & few even commented on fuel prices. Enter the Nancy & Harry show & prices skyrocket, Everybody noticed. They own, as in have ownership, of high fuel prices. America sees her refusing angrily to obtain US oil, & insisting we spend, spend, spend on daydream energy & wait, wait, wait for it to come true. She loops like a fool, because she speaks & acts like one.
And that, my dear, is what I am talking about.

Thanks for the explanation harpman1.
Have you noticed that the bush admin. has a history in oil? Everyone doing fine right now are cronies, those that would help bush get to where he is and oil mongerers are one of the cronies.
Now, if Pelosi has history in oil, then she is likewise as guilty.

I've got a history in oil, and so do you. You use it daily. Robt. Byrd has a history in the Klan. Bill Clinton has a history of sex with subordinate employees.
So what?
A man is defined by his actions, not his memories. Or in Lord Hopeandchange's case, his inactions.

Now, if Pelosi has history in oil, then she is likewise as guilty. If you didn't read the WashPost article I linked to in my discussion with Saunterelle, I'll just point out that, when the Energy Bill was being debated in Congress in 2005, oil was at $55 a barrel. Bush's proposal was for more alternative energy tax credits, but the House bill was for oil, natural gas and electricity tax credits, with a little thrown in for residential retrofits. Please explain how that fits with your current argument. Knowing, as you must by now, that Nancy Pelosi has a bundle invested in T Boone Pickens' company Clear Energy, how does that make you feel about her current support for his plans to transfer vast amounts of energy usage from petroleum to natural gas and wind power? We're outside her district, unless you live in Marin or SF, but, as a concerned Democrat, will you campaign against her? Does the word "cronyism" apply on both sides of the aisle, or just on the right?

So dig deeper and see for yourself what actions bush/cheney have done to this country, regarding energy. It started back in 2000, when they finally had some control. As for my history in oil, I am a consumer and a conservative one.
