Chuck hasn't resigned. He is not running for re-election. The fact that he speaks up, goes beyond party lines. He speaks for the regard of the country. you laud hagel for going beyond party lines but yet you smite mccain and palin for the exact same thing. there are two things i dislike about liberals.........their faces.

Before you hate my face, just think about what Hagel is saying. I don't always like what my own party does at times either, so I can understand your feeling. I'm sure Hagel isn't the only Republican who thinks the same way, especially during the election.

so why do you have a problem with mccain/palin doing the same thing??? Mccain doesn't know where he stands on issues as he changes his mind constantly. I know in the past, he has worked with Dems on certain issues, but now he is blundering with his own ideas. Palin doesn't know anything outside her small politics in Alaska. From what is growing evident more and more, she runs bully tactics and hires her own friends from high school to be on her cabinet. She lies so much, she isn't trustworthy. Hagel, on the other hand, is being very realistic and as he is leaving the Senate, is more objective.

From what is growing evident more and more, she runs bully tactics and hires her own friends from high school to be on her cabinet. I suggest you study up more on Chicago-style politics, the school that your candidate graduated from, before you start to throw stones like this. You might learn more about John Stroger, the Cook County Commissioner that Obama first came up under. Stroger perfected the practice of handing out patronage jobs to people that worked for his re-election, even to the point of putting his own family on the government payroll. How is that different from what Sarah Palin did? (See Neil Steinberg, "Stroger may be ill, but save your symapthy for taxpayers," Chicago Sun-Times, March 15, 2006. Full Text requires subscription.)

What's your point? If a person abuses power, they abuse power, regardless of political persuation. I don't approve of it!
