The "Occupy movement" may have started out with some sort of mixed ideas about fighting the "establishment" or whatever, but they could not form anything that resembled an egenda....other than anger at the world. But, they were so disorganized and dysfunctional that it became a draw to those with mental issues, drug addicts, homeless and criminals....all bent on creating chaos. So, if Holmes was drawn to that, it's no wonder he went on to bigger and more nasty things.

Dances, do you have a link that Holmes was an actual Occupy follower?

Dances, do you have a link that Holmes was an actual Occupy follower? So far there seems to still be a question about whether the photo is actually of the Holmes or not. There has not been any other mention of that, so who knows? Time will tell. With today's discovery of that "notebook" Holmes sent to the college shrink, it looks like he planned this thing for some time, so I wonder what his "defense" could possibly be?

When I refer to "evil", I speak of the evil influences from the original "evil one", Satan. He is the opposite of good and is responsible for the hate that fills the earth. Satan was originally a son of God just as so many other angels. But, he desired the worship of humans and sought to turn man away from their Creator. He has worked hard to do that and his influence is manifest in the evil things we see when man commits evil acts upon his fellow man and even the animals. Yes, drugs contribute to the psychosis that the mentally ill deal with, aggravating the situation. But what is to be said for someone like the man who slaughtered so many last night? He did not know them, yet he killed as many as he could. So far, they do not say whether he was "high" on drugs, or any other substances, but there does not seem to be any indication of a history of hostility. So where did he get his urges to commit such evil? DWD, no offense, but I don't believe in Satan, or some form of "evil" that can possess people. I do know that people can be born with a mental illness, or can become mentally ill due to drugs, abuse etc. Here's a quote about schizophrenia and typical age onset, I would be willing to bet that this might be one good possibility/explanation: "Schizophrenia is a disease that typically begins in early adulthood; between the ages of 15 and 25. Men tend to get develop schizophrenia slightly earlier than women; whereas most males become ill between 16 and 25 years old, most females develop symptoms several years later, and the incidence in women is noticeably higher in women after age 30. The average age of onset is 18 in men and 25 in women. Schizophrenia onset is quite rare for people under 10 years of age, or over 40 years of age. The diagram below demonstrates the general "age of onset" trends for schizophrenia in men and women, from a representative study on the topic." www.schizophrenia.com/szfacts.htmWe will have to wait and see I guess.

8 min. ago -James Eagan Holmes was charged with 142 counts, including 24 counts of first-degree murder, 116 counts of attempted murder, one count of possession of an explosive device and one count of a sentence enhancer for a crime of violence. Wonder if this last one is because of gun free zone? www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_21191265/hearing-underway-man-suspected-killing-12-aurora-theaterThere was a California prison shrink of the radio saying it a acting job in the court system, this was on KSFO.

I'd recently read that Ashley Moser (mother of the 6 year old girl Veronica that was killed) had a miscarriage, and will be paralyzed. Some people are critical that she had her daughter out way too late, and I say fine, not a good decision, but the price she is paying is beyond comprehension. My heart absolutely breaks for her, what a tragedy!

The horror that poor woman has had to and will continue to go through is more than most of us can even comprehend. Whatever "punishment" that man is given by our Justice System will not be enough. His judgment will be handed out by a much Higher Power.

My heart sank when I heard of this woman's loss....yes, I would have kept my child home instead of having her out that late, but what the heck, it is summertime and who knows, it could have been a "one-time" thing. Who would think such a horrid act would happen the same night?
What gets me is Holmes was seeing a psychiatrist, who alerted the university he attended.....why did they drop the ball just because he dropped out!?

I bet that's a question they will have to answer to law enforcement. Why do they bother with the warnings if no one pays any heed?
It's odd that the 6 year old was in the theater at all for that movie, as she was under the age allowed (17). Very poor judgement by the mother, and I expect she will be spending the rest of her life regretting her poor choices made that night. Tough "lesson". Ratings are for a reason, and parents/theaters who disregard them need to pay a price, but not the price that mother ends up paying.

I bet that's a question they will have to answer to law enforcement. Why do they bother with the warnings if no one pays any heed? Well, the reality is with cutbacks in law enforcement, parole/probation, mental health etc. there is little, to NO follow up with much of anything. I have alerted parole that when my son is out of jail we feel very threatened and their best advice is get a restraining order implemented as part of his parole condition. Sounds good, right? Think again! Parole and the local law enforcement do NOT communicate! When a warrant is issued for my son's arrest the local PD doesn't catch up with it for days. I have my son's parole agent's personal cell# so that the local authorities can phone him directly to verify that a warrant has indeed been issued if he shows up here and threatens us. My point is, I am not surprised! <sadly> Cutbacks, cutbacks, cutbacks now to the point of being dangerous.
