I can not fathom why people can not connect the dots to the failed congress of the last two years? Why do you suppose congressional job ratings are at a historical low, lower then Bushes approval rating even. The only change in the last two years was from a Republican majority to a Democrat majority two years ago.

LOL You're really going to argue that people are unhappy because the Democrats took control of congress TWO YEARS AGO?? It's obvious that the message of "change" works because of the incompetence the Republicans have shown over the past 8 years. That's why the Democrats took control two years ago and will take control of the White House in November.
Congress' approval rating is extremely low, as is the President's approval rating. The reason is that we expected the Democrats to take a more aggressive approach to ending the war, but they don't want to endanger the troops by cutting funding. So they will let Bush hang himself while they wait it out 'till November when Obama is elected. Then, you will see approval skyrocket.

But, both times that congressional approval ratings dipped to historic lows was in a Democrat controlled congress. Are you going to blame the Iraq war for those as well. The simple fact is, in the words of the democrats, "it's the economy stupid." It has floundered in every case where the congressional approval ratings dipped. Since the economy is really the responsibility of congress, and quite a few people understand that, it makes sense their ratings are down, with the economy. Continue making excuses. They are very easy to punch holes in.

In fact, congressional job ratings are so low they did not poll them or did not release the results this time around with Presidential Job Ratings. I suppose they did not wish to scare the public, or they were trying to preserve Obama's run.

Yep, I hope you can understand why voters respond to "change" as a slogan. The Republicans have dropped the ball so badly that any change is welcomed with open arms. There's a guy in our office with a bumper sticker I'm sure a lot of you have seen before: Since I know he's a Democrat, I asked him how he felt about Lynn Woolsey running unopposed for her eighth time. He didn't have a problem with Woolsey being the only Democrat for the 6th District on the primary ballot. I asked him how that fit with his bumper sticker. He said, "Oh, shut up!"
