I'm wondering what all your reactions would be if President Obama never left the campaign trail despite this natural disaster......sheesh! My goodness folks, living in earthquake country....it could have been us. Thank you Mr. President for looking out for our fellow Americans. Oh and a special thanks to Gov. Christie for acknowledging.....someone has to! Ah, and here we see another example of how the Left "thinks". They are having a high time poking jabs at Mitt Romney for drumming up donations for those effected by the storms, yet fail to see their failure to read their own memos of talking points: "Then on MSNBC's “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell,” there was another less-than-charming episode of Romney Can’t Win. Joy-Ann Reid, the former Obama campaign staffer who now runs the NBC-owned site TheGrio.com, insisted “anything he [Romney] does looks almost by nature too political. And he can’t actually do anything. He can’t do anything certainly for Chris Christie. Going around with Mitt Romney and his Secret Service detail through the affected areas of New Jersey would actually cause more problems and wouldn’t help at all.” But doesn’t Obama have a Secret Service detail, too? (yes, Obozo was parading around with his snoot in the air with Chris Christie and a full entourage of secret service detail..... Any comment, Mink? Or how about your response to this news item: n Tuesday afternoon’s broadcast of "Andrea Mitchell Reports" on MSNBC, Mitchell accused Romney of surreptitious campaigning, and asked what are the true intentions of Governor Romney collecting storm supplies after a hurricane. Mitchell reported, “We checked with the Red Cross. The Red Cross said while they’re always grateful for donations – that this is not what they need or want,” she insisted. “And to now get these canned good from the Romney event in Ohio – and have to first package it – used clothes they have to clean.” Opportunistic bashing of Romney’s food drive by the Mitchell and others shows it doesn’t matter what the Republicans will do, the media will stick to anti-Romney talking points. - She turned to Washington Post political analyst Chris Cillizza and sneered, "It does seem like a thinly veiled [campaign event] – why Ohio?” If there’s something Andrea Mitchell is not is “thinly veiled” when it comes to sending a political message. Mitchell revealed herself, yet again, as a liberal partisan, and someone who borders on absent minded when it comes to common sense. There are 7.5 million people without power, and how dare Mitt Romney try to help those in need?

I hope Mink was being facetious when speaking about "Mr. President looking out for fellow Americans" because there is no way she could post that with a straight face in view of recent weeks of NEWS. It is rather laughable, but downright tragic that "Mr. President" does not care one bit about "looking out for fellow Americans". If he did, he would have protected our treasures who were serving him as Ambassador in Libya as well as CIA and SEALs there. Also, he would protect our borders from the thousands of illegals (and terrorists being aided by the cartels) who cross our Southern border on a daily basis. Of course, that would mean offending his "base" of Latino voters, so we know he will not bother doing that. "Mr. President looking out for fellow Americans" my ass! Obama covers his own ass at OUR EXPENSE. Watch/read or listen to the REAL NEWS, Mink. I bet you would be shocked at just how impotent your "Mr. President" is.

MINK, are you a homeowner or renter, is it up to Obama to help you out if your home is damage, or is it the states responsibility, or yours and friends?
Governor Chris Christie:
"If you think right now I give a damn about president politics, then you don’t know me.”
What the photo op does is the president can cut the BS factor they lessen the paper work. Now will the EPA let them rebuild or let it go back to nature l after you remove your trashed home.
Did you hear some homeowners stating we just finished repairing after the storm two years ago. I'm guessing they didn't repair the possible floodplain repair that the government flood insurance from the last storm to raise the homes like our groinville.
FOX NEWS: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie joined Fox and Friends this morning to talk about the cleanup process in his state following Hurricane Sandy.
He said that this has been a “devastating storm” and New Jersey “probably took worse than any other state” because the hurricane made landfall there. There is almost no power in city of Newark because of the tidal surge and 2.4 million households are without power there.
Christie believes the worst is over but is keeping an eye out for high tide today and hoping to get into a helicopter to tour the state and assess the damage. Specifically in Atlantic City and Cape May where the heart of the storm came in, Christie had warned residents to leave, but the mayor there had a different message.
“My job as governor first and foremost is to protect the health and safety of the people of this state and that’s why I ordered an evacuation of the Barrier Islands including Atlantic City well ahead of the arrival of the storm. I’m disappointed that that order wasn’t completely complied with and I have great sympathy and concern for the people who are still trapped…”
On the question of whether Mitt Romney might go to New Jersey to tour the damage with Governor Christie, he said, “I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested. I have a job to do in New Jersey that is much bigger than presidential politics. I could care less about any of that stuff… If you think right now I give a damn about president politics, then you don’t know me.”

Christie is doing exactly what a New Jersey governor should do and President Obama is doing what a president of the United States should do. For once we have politicians actually doing their jobs and this is all that is happening.

Staten Island Borough President: Don’t Give Money to the Red Cross
By Colin Campbell 11/01 11:46am
Twitter752 Facebook5K+ Reddit Google +1 Email Print
At a press conference this morning on Staten Island, a host of local officials, including Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, gathered to highlight the needs of the hard-hit borough in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. And, although many pols spoke, no one was more impassioned than Borough President James Molinaro, who called the Red Cross an “absolute disgrace” and even urged the public to cease giving them contributions.
“Because the devastation in Staten Island, the lack of a response,” Mr. Molinaro said to explain his comment to NBC after the press conference. “You know, I went to a shelter Monday night after the storm. People were coming in with no socks, with no shoes. They were in desperate need. Their housing was destroyed. They were crying. Where was the Red Cross? Isn’t that their function? They collect millions of dollars. Whenever there’s a drive in Staten Island, we give openly and honestly. Where are they? Where are they? I was at the South Shore yesterday, people were buried in their homes. There the dogs are trying to find bodies. The people there, the neighbors who had no electricity, were making soup. Making soup. It’s very emotional because the lack of a response. The lack of a response. They’re supposed to be here….They should be on the front lines fighting, and helping the people.”
Several other local officials agreed with Mr. Molinaro’s rage over Staten Island’s situation, although they did not call out the Red Cross specifically.
“It is as the borough president, Jim Molinaro, said, it’s disgusting, it really is,” State Senator Andy Lanza said, criticizing the city for giving the go-ahead to the New York City Marathon this weekend and the focus on pumping the water out of the East River tunnels. “We’re talking about getting water of the tunnel. Let’s get the water out of the tunnel tomorrow, let’s get the people out of the water today. There’ve been thousands of people who have been displaced. There are people who are cold, who are hungry, who are without a place to go, and looking for warmth. There are people still trapped. Yet we’re talking about marathons and tunnels. I walked on the rooftop of a house yesterday, I stepped on it because the debris that surrounded it was level with the rooftop. That’s what happened here on Staten Island.”
Congressman Michael Grimm concurred.
“I think this is an example of what infuriates people here on Staten Island,” he said. “Like Senator Lanza just said, we have people, people still in water. Families displaced, families wondering where their grandparents are. Are they at a shelter? Are they at a hospital? Or are they gone? That’s what we should be focusing on. I think it would be very misguided to have this marathon. I think that the people of Staten Island will see this, unfortunately…as another shot against them, that the City Hall is more worried about getting everything running again for Manhattan and making everything look like it’s back to normal. We’re not back to normal and we’re not going to be back to normal for a long time.”
Their housing is destroyed bare foot no shoes and demand being taken care of. Oh the takers.

I almost blew coffee all over my keyboard... Mink couldn't have said it better..."and President Obama is doing what a president of the United States should do. Where was he on the night of Sept 12, 2012? Sigh... I would think you of all people, Ferrous, would know better than to parse words here when the conservative nominee can't even remember what he said last week or totally change position! Hmmm, that alone should get everyone's attention......why didn't you catch that? What I see here regarding Hurricane Sandy is President Obama and Gov. Christie doing their jobs and there's more work. BTW, it appears Mayor Bloomberg has endorsed President Obama today (as well as Colin Powell recently) and for good reason. I'm sure you will disagree.

ABC News’s Mary Bruce asked Obama when will you begin to provide answers to the numerous questions building up about what exactly what went wrong in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. He smiles waves and walks away from the tough questions. Sounds like normal control of the press core by Obama. abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/11/the-benghazi-drip-drip-drip/

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Many of you are concerned about Rockaway, and all the coastal areas affected by Hurricane Sandy. As we approach day 3 from the storm, these considerations should be made: 1 - no considerable relief effort is being made for those who chose to wait out the storm. Whether you agree with the decision to stay or not, this means tens of thousands of people now in an area with no real access to food, drinkable water, heat, etc. 2 - effort now needs to be made to deal with immediate needs first, then to move people out of this area to a safe location before things get dire. Any of you who know the Rockaways well will understand that there is a great economic disparity within a very small area. It would be wonderful to think that everyone will do everything to be helpful and kind to each other, but as of yesterday there was NO efforts being made in the downtown area to provide food/ etc, and there is a recipe for disaster on the burner there. If you have friends in the area, urge them to take valuable belongings and clothes, and vacate. If you are thinking of what you can do to help, I wish I knew what to say. The efforts being made in Manhattan do not reflect what is happening in the Rockaways, and the situation is about to transition from the immediate recovery to what the coming long term situation may very well be, which is an area that will have it's major services disconnected, in an effort to force residents to leave. If you feel the need to go and help, either be FULLY prepared to rough it. Not snow-day rough it, wilderness camping rough it. If you need a definition, DO NOT GO. If you have a vehicle and wish to drive, make sure it is 4x4 and that you are an experienced driver. There is no power, no lights. Supplies to bring and distribute: water, power bars, granola bars, etc. Think high protein, small space. Socks, undergarments, baby wipes Be prepared to drive people out, people you do not know. If they do not want to go, MAKE SURE THEY KNOW THAT THROUGH THURSDAY OF NEXT WEEK, TEMPERATURES WILL BE NO HIGHER THAN 50F DURING THE DAY. This means serious risk of hypothermia for those with no capability to full warm and dry themselves. And remember, there is no gas in NYC at the moment. Do not make the situation worse by becoming another person in need there. Use your head. Call your local representatives, re-post this. The only efforts there right now are grass-roots, and if we all put our energy into keeping those affected safe, we can keep this from becoming a bigger disaster than it already is. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26786972 Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce will have a concert this week....all proceeds going to the Red Cross! Where in the hell IS the Red Cross? Have they shown up yet? One the the mayors in NJ or NY was livid saying they haven't helped his town yet. The CEO of the Red Cross has a salary of over 1 million/year. colorlines.com/archives/2012/11/without_electricity_new_yorkers_on_food_stamps_cant_pay_for_food.html

What's not in the news that would make Obama look bad.
A local supermarket had been looted, a local pharmacy had been ransacked, and then there were the gangs.
“They said they have received several calls from members of the church who had boarded themselves in their own apartments and are afraid to come out because of these roving gangs of kids, which are now already being named ‘wolf packs.

Yeah, the President looked oh so Presidential for a day and a half then it was right back to his re-election wearing his sporty Commander-in -Chief Flight Jacket as a returning hero to his adoring fans...
I believe Gov. Christie is still down in the trenches trying to bring aid and relief to the victims...
