San Jose standoff with naked man wielding Samurai sword ends safely
A naked man brandishing a large Samurai sword was arrested after a three-hour standoff on New Year's Day with San Jose police near Southwest Expressway and Bascom Avenue.
A police spokesman said officers used a flash-bang device to distract the man, whom they identified as 29-year-old Coco Bennett, then rushed him.
The New Year's Day incident began about 8:05 a.m. when police received a call about a man with an assault rifle in front of a residence near Ezie Street and Cas Drive, according to a news release from police. The caller eventually said the man was driving away.
Police pursued the man based on the description of his vehicle. When he saw them, he stopped and jumped out of his car naked,

"You're going to have to kill me," he shouted several times.
Officers were able to approach the vehicle and recover the rifle.
Police had barricaded the area and are asking that everyone stay out away because the situation was dangerous.
