NBA's Jones pleads not guilty to 'stomping' on homeless man in Portland (Jones is BLACK, in case there is any doubt about NBA "stars")
PORTLAND, Ore. – Terrence Jones, a former Jefferson High School star and current Houston Rockets player, was arrested in Portland at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday after police said he yelled at a homeless man and stomped on his leg.
Jones was charged with harassment, and pleaded not guilty Wednesday afternoon.
While watching a group of people walk away from a club called Tube, a Portland police sergeant observed a man, later identified as Jones, walk by a doorway where two homeless men were sleeping, according to police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson.
The sergeant said Jones yelled, “Wake up,” then raised his leg and stomped down on one of the man’s legs. The men were sleeping in the doorway of 114 Northwest 3rd Avenue.
On his way into court, Jones refused to comment, but his attorney said Jones didn't stomp on the man and that "this isn't a criminal matter." (nope, not a "criminal matter", just another rich black slum dude who thinks he is above the law and that his temporary wealth and fame makes him entitled to harm others)
The victim, 46-year-old Daniel John Kellerher, received a minor leg injury and did not require immediate medical attention, Simpson said.
Jones will be allowed to travel after posting bail. His next court date is Sept. 6.
Calls to Jones' agent, Arn Tellem, and his former coach at Jefferson, Pat Strickland, were not immediately returned Wednesday. A spokesman for the Houston Rockets told the Associated Press the team had no comment.
Jones led the Jefferson Democrats to an unprecedented three straight Class 5A championships and played in the 2010 McDonald’s All-American Game.
He originally committed to play for the University of Washington, but changed his mind three weeks later and went to Kentucky. He helped the Wildcats to the Final Four in his freshman year, then to the national title in 2012.
He was drafted 18th overall by the Houston Rockets, but spent most of last season in the development league. In his 19 regular-season games with the Rockets, the 6-foot9, 252-pound forward averaged 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14.5 minutes.
Well, we will eagerly await the race charlatans to come to Oregon and protest that this homeless man was obviously a slave owner who beat Jones and kept him enslaved for centuries and is now deserving of the "stomping" at the hands of Jones. That 's gotta be the "explanation", right? Not anything to do with the black punk who thinks his temporary fame allows him to act like the low-life ghetto spawn he is.
