Well then we should address the cocaine binges and dealers of Barack Hussein Obama, who has admitted to abusing cocaine in his past, shouldn't we. You are indeed very dense.

After all, abusing cocaine is a felony. Becoming addicted to painkillers is a medical issue.

FBI crime statistics. 10,086 gun deaths of the 14,831 murders. I only count murders because guns in other categories such as accidents are not relevant to what you say. You specifically talk about our violent gun nature, which would also exclude suicide numbers. Your very words imply murder and mayhem. And these are 2007 figures.

Also, counting suicides would be disingenuous, since taking away guns will not prevent suicides, it will only change the way suicide is accomplished. So counting those numbers would add to the propaganda you spew, not present a fair picture of the relatively small gun problem we have.

And for what it's worth, the CDC reports ~700 deaths caused by accident with firearms. That number continues to decline year over year.

The gun deaths listed by the FBI also don't differentiate, at the high level, with lawful intervention (e.g. self defense) which amounts to 400-500 per year.

The gun grabbers roll all those up into one big number of "gun deaths", which is still not in the top fifteen for causes of death in this country on the current numbers.
