So far for me, that would be Florida.
I handled the humidity and heat a lot better than I thought I would for early September.
The weather was unique... very tropical in nature (days of 90 degree rain), and almost everything was green (perhaps due to the heavy summer rain). For comparisons sake, California gets brown in the summer due to our dry season.
The water scenery is quite nice, and the people were refreshingly friendly.
What about you?

I haven't much to offer as I've only been in three other states, AZ, TX and OR. I'll take California. You can go most anywhere here and find exquisite natural beauty from the ocean to the mountains to the snow, to very hot as well as cold.
Great topic surefire!!

California definitely has great diversity (weather, terrain, etc).
Although I forgot to put it in the original post, I intended to ask what states do you like to visit other than your home state?

Just recently took our first cross country drive. Went through NV, UT, WY, NE, IA, IN, PA, MO. All had good points. The humidity and heat in PA damn near killed us. I guess wearing layers of wool didn't help. MO was nice. Same for WY & UT. Could live in WY or MO.

Montana in the summer was beautiful. Don't know if I'd want to hang out for the winter. I had plenty of that when I went to college in Nebraska. Fargin' too cold!

Got back from Denver, Colorado Tuesday night. Another really beatiful state, and surprisingly warm for this time of the year. I'm definitely going to return to Colorado one day for vacation (Florida is still my favorite though).
