[quote author=mink2 board=uspolitics thread=579 post=8784 time=1227650963First of all, Obama's picks are just that. Let's see how they conduct themselves before labelling them. So far, I like the choices, but they sure have their work cut out for them......TY Bush. [/quote] You mean the way the left did with Pres. Bush when he announced his picks? I remember lots of editorials, columns, forum posts blasting his picks as retreads, hold overs, and paybacks. Why should The Obama be treated any differently?

I was listening to the news on the radio today and people were falling over themselves praising The Obama for picking people with "experience." Now, a lot of these same people who were gushing rhapsodically over The Obamas choices, were chastizing Pres. Bush for doing the exact same thing. Is it too much to ask the media, or should I say the progressive biased media, to be consisitant? If it was wrong for Bush to pick experienced people, then it is wrong for The Obama.

Bush picked corrupt cronies. Obama is picking people of stature and character. Even Conservatives are happy with Obama's picks so far.

Oh, oh, oh, I forgot! Everything Bush did was bad, but everything Obama does is good, by definition.
Tell me how Eric Holder's advocacy of a pardon for Marc Rich in the waning days of the Clinton administration was not an example of corruption.

It really doesn't matter. The conservatives can fight amongst themselves while the Democrats take charge to clean up the mess they left behind.

Ah saunterelle, so what you really meant to say was not what you said. What you really meant to say was that enough marginal Republicans or RINO's were happy with Obama's picks that we don't care what people with real principles believe, right?
May I ask you, is it a genetic trait of Democrats to always marginalize the other side? And how does that advance cooperation among the different ideologies in this country? Especially in view of the point that I have totally discredited your statement on how the Republicans waited to vote on the bailout until it was loaded up with additional pork in the Socialism thread.
One thing you seem to be unable to grasp is that Bush may be a Republican, but not all Republicans are Bush. The true conservatives among us realize that this country will not continue to exist while the government continues to grow and increase the handouts to the non-productive citizens in this country. Productive citizens stabilize the economy, handouts to an increasing size of non-productive entities in this nation destabilizes the entire country and threatens its very existence.

Well, that was a very revealing video. And the poll revealed even more about the level of ignorance in this country and how it affects each party. I was not aware that so many did not know that Democrats controlled Congress, but 95% of the same people knew Sarah Palin had a pregnant, teenage daughter and that her party spent $150,000 on wardrobe. 12 out of 12 of the interviewed Obama voters thought Republicans controlled Congress.
Worse yet, all of them got the question wrong on Sarah Palin being able to see Russia from her house, that was Tina Fey that said that. Sarah said you can actually see Russia from certain places in Alaska, which is the truth. It is only 2.6 miles from the U.S. Island off the Coast of Alaska called Little Diomede to the Russian Island off the Coast of Siberia called Big Diomede. The closest distance between mainland Russia and mainland Alaska is 58 miles, one can easily see that distance. Mount Diablo can be seen from Petaluma, which is close to the same distance. And from Mount Diablo you can see 78 miles out from this relatively low peak 3,849 feet. There is a coastal range between Wales, AK and Tin City, AK with is nearly 2,300 feet from which I am sure you could see Russia on a clear day.
And still, even worse not one of the interviewed knew that Obama sued to get three challengers removed from the ballot in his first election, though one was shocked to learn it was Obama, they all said Palin or McCain. And none of them were aware he said he was going to tax the coal industry into bankruptcy, most of which said McCain, with one saying Biden. And not a single one knew Biden said Obama would be tested by international crisis within six months.
So who do you blame for the apparently high level of voter ignorance? The voter? Their parents for not teaching them what they should learn in school? The media for not covering the issues? Who?
