It will get worse for a long time. You see, patronage is our problem. California is staunchly liberal and that will not change anytime soon, much to our chagrin.
Because of our political make up, the Republican Party ignores us. It would cost to much for them to flip this state, which is nearly impossible with all the dunderheads we have in this state who don't understand business and economics in the least. So, we cannot look for support among Republicans in the Congress because they have no reason to support us.
Democrats in the Federal Government ignore us because they already have our vote. They don't need to buy it with federal tax dollars through patronage. That is why with two Democrat Senators and most Democrat Representatives in the Federal Government for our state we have seen our return slip from a high of $1.08 for ever Federal Tax Dollar sent under Ronald Reagan to 78 cents under Bush. In fact, the largest drop in our returns actually came when Babs and Di Fi went to the Senate and Lynn C. Woolsey went into the House.
Someone want to tell me again how these liberal do gooders are good for this state. Heck, the have done a shit job of representing this state. And we wonder why our budget is giving us troubles in California. No patronage is why. And it is the best reason to eliminate the federal income tax.
