nufsaid, you are so right! Paying off debt is first priority!! Years ago I had a few credit cards and decided to close them all but one. I phoned each company and asked what was the rock bottom interest rate they could give me, or I'd leave, it worked out pretty well and I scored a life long low interest rate on my Visa. We now use AMEX almost exclusively since Costco gives a cash rebate for using it and so does AMEX, SCORE! It sounds like you're on the right track, just don't spend a penny more than you need to and you'll be back in black in no time! I just got a AC/DC flashback... (nevermind)

Gee, if memory serves me , I believe it was Bush who said to "go shopping" after 9/11.....so the terrorists wouldn't know they got the best of our economy.

Gee, if memory serves me , I believe it was Bush who said to "go shopping" after 9/11.....so the terrorists wouldn't know they got the best of our economy. The terrorist attacks had nothing to do with this economy and you are indeed intelligent enough to understand that. So, please don't insult my intelligence by running out this tired statement that has nothing to do with the problems this country is currently in. Because I know I am not the only person posting here who knows that what you say has no bearing on reality in this case.

The "Go shopping" comment, taken in context, was a call to not let the thugs who hate us change our lives. If we allow them to control our actions, they have won. I don't see why that call, to get on with our normal lives, caused so much stir.
