Has anyone besides me noticed a huge increase in violent crime using things other than firearms? Axe violence, knife violence, weed wacker violence, hand violence, foot violence.
Good thing the thugs didn't have guns, someone might have gotten hurt.
Kind of odd that the first thing people want when TSHTF is a cop with a gun.

One thing I have noticed is when the economy is poor, crime rates go up. Do you have anything to back that up? The current economy, with unemployment just over 5%, would seem to argue against your point. Or, are you just trying to continue the Democrat talking point about "the failed policies of Geroge W. Bush." How many times have you heard Obama or Pelosi or Reid use exactly those words?

You have a good point there jgaffney. Especially in light of recent FBI statistics showing a drop in the crime rate over the last two years.

It was just last week that many were discussing the reduction, year over year, in violent crime in Santa Rosa. While I wouldn't necessarily say that our economy is "poor" here in SoCo, I would say we have more than our fair share of gang bangers who would be banging pretty much regardless of the level of legitimate economic opportunity by choice.
So which is reality Mink? The economy, according to the Democrat / liberal / progressive mantra is in the dumper. Yet unemployment remains low overall and violent crime in this country continues to trend downward.
Kind of saws the legs of the table your argument rests on, doesn't it?

Who said anything about the current president in regards to the slow economy/ high crime rate, although he did contribute, he wouldn't be the only pres. It has been an observation that when a Republican takes office, jobs are less, crime rate goes up. Reagan years were the same and so was Bush 41.
Although some would not admit the local economy is poor, we have seen much better times. One doesn't have to subscribe to the PD to see people riding bicycles more than last year, of course the "For Sale" signs on many homes, even more "For Rent" signs in the last few years........more people using the food banks/ pantries, less job opportunities to the new graduate, if you have the PD, you will see more articles expressing outrage about the loss of the mental health clinic.....shall I go on?

no! please don't go on until you have a way to back up all this horse manure you're spreading. show us ONE real bit of evidence that republicans cause job loss and crime increases.

Lookie back at both the reagan/bush 41 terms and see the economy. Poor economies encourage crime. Added: TNG just went to research

TNG doesn't need to research this BS. i know it is untrue and so do you. that's why you didn't provide ONE iota of evidence to support it.
and if we use your formula, where does jimmy carter fit in?
