I hardly call the author anti-Jewish nor anti-Israel. He is telling it like it is. There are probably more who feel the same way. It makes sense that two wrongs don't make one right and with the ongoing attacks, it is fitting. It is one thing to defend one's country and another to attack innocent lives. I would like to see the leaders settle this on their own instead of disrupting and killing innocent people, who have nothing to do with politics. Israel has taken this too far and I bet they don't hear their own people. I must point out that subdjoe did not call the author anti-Jewish or anti-Israel, that was your remark. He called it an anti-Jewish/anti-Israel piece written by someone who has no clue. There is a big difference between what he said and what you said.

Israel has taken this too far and I bet they don't hear their own people. The trouble I see with opinions like yours is the lack of solutions and an abundance of criticism. Tell me, exactly how many of these rockets must Israel endure before they are justified in attempting to put an end to something that is an act of war? 1,000? 2,000? 5,000? or 10,000? There have been more then 6,000 fired to date. And how do you justify to the families of the victims of these rockets that you will not take action against a blatant act of war. Remember, Hamas is the duly elected government of Palestine. If they attack Israel then any response to their open act of war is the fault of Hamas, not Israel. There in lies the flaw to the authors piece and your opinion. You hold Israel to a higher standard then the group responsible for an open act of war, Hamas. That is some twisted thinking.

Well if the leaders of Hamas weren't busy hiding in places like THIS: www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1231424936164&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFullAnd listening to people like THIS: www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1231424929369&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFullThey might actually want to hug it out...but I doubt it. You can complain about civilian casualties all day, they are the fault of Hamas, you know working out of Hospitals schools etc..

it's so difficult for progressives here in norcal, snuggled in their safe beds at night, to even remotely understand what israel has been going thru the last 60 years. imagine, if you will, that our canadian friends to the north were lobbing indiscriminate (yet very deadly) rockets into seattle or detroit. how long would it take before the american people DEMANDED our gov't take action? a day? a week? a month? 60 years?
imagine those citizens of the US (seattle-ites, detroiters) living in fear every day that a rocket may hit a school (hamas landed one in a kindergarten classroom last week), a place of worship, hospital, or crowded market. what do you suppose life would be like for them day after day, year after year?
imagine that you live in a country (created by the UN) that has to fight for your existence almost daily because there are those who hate you simply for your existence. imagine their are neighboring nations who are hell bent on your destruction so much that on more than one occasion they have amassed soldiers and weaponry and thrust them upon you in order to witness your demise. imagine...
hamas, hezbollah, syria, iran, et.al. are the real troublemakers. everytime i see one of those idiotic COEXIST bumper stickers i want to strangle the driver. everyone gets along fine with the exception of the C (crescent, muslims). the jews get along fine with the buddhists, the buddhists get along with the hindu, the hindu get along with the christians, etc. the god damn muslims are the ones who just don't play well with others. of all the conflicts raging around the world today, muslims are involved in almost ALL of them. imagine that!
israel is doing nothing more than they should have done years ago. you GD progressive, peace-activist, mealy-mouthed, sissies are doing nothing short of causing the death of more and more innocent israelis everytime you cause israel to pull their punches. the blood is on YOUR hands. enough is enough.
i almost forgot.... in 8 days all will be well, right? obama is going to change the world. the israelis and palestinians, hamas, and hezboallah will lay down their arms and exchange warm embraces. yeah, and pigs will fly out of my butt. he will be pressured by the leftist loons to "do something" to bring peace to the middle east a la jimmy carter (that worked out real well, didn't it?) and israel is going to tell him to go get bent.
only one thing will stop hamas and hezboallah....... their total and utter destruction, nothing else.

this is where folks like mink and santurelle make their biggest mistakes: believing crap like this...... www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479485,00.html as i recall mink trotted out the same lines regarding "collateral damage" in lebanon 2 years ago that were also proven to be propoganda BS. sure the french frogs apologized but it's too little too late. the damage has been done. millions saw the newscast but i'm sure few will have seen the apology which lasted all of 15 seconds.

Recall, if you will, the old Lebanese woman holding in her hand the two 5.56X45 NATO rounds, that she clamed hit her house, after being fired by the Zionists. Ooops! Only problem was, they were unfired rounds. No media bias here, nope, nope, nope.

Spraying white phospherous on innocents on top of firing weapons is insuring many dead people. ridiculous! you wouldn't know white phospherous if it bit you on your butt. got any idea what WP is used for? you really need to stop relying on bloggers thousands of miles removed from the action for your news.

Like I posted earlier, this is "my" observation, which leads to my conclusion. Two wrongs do not make a right, very simple.
I'm not sure why a political party(Dems or Progressives) was mentioned here. I don't even know how my party stands on the issue.
Whether I am right or wrong, I don't agree with Israel killing innocent lives regardless of their past oppression. Likewise, I don't agree with Hamas, Hezbollah, or any other group that insist they have a reason to kill.
As posted by TNG earlier in this thread, he claims I had a similar reaction to Lebanon regarding "collateral damage". This was incorrect in that I was reacting to the unilateral war in Iraq. It was Big Dog whoexplained "collateral damage" is expected. My conclusion there is, if the Middle East is filled with terrorists and needs to be dealt with, then nuke 'em. If the bad guys are so widespread in one region, the simple answer is to wipe out the region as a whole. You can imagine the reaction then.......
Back on topic, Israel may be asking more of the same if they continue on their current path.

You are assuming without reason that Israel is wrong for defending herself. SElf defense is not wrong.
Mink wrote: " Israel may be asking more of the same if they continue on their current path." Of course, the past 60 years of "jaw-jaw" has only gotten Israel "more of the same." Shouldn't Israel try something else now?
And, care to address the points I have asked twice now? Or aren't those covered in the NPR talking points?

Like I posted earlier, this is "my" observation, which leads to my conclusion. Two wrongs do not make a right, very simple. Don't fire more then 6,000 rockets into a neighboring country and they won't retaliate, very, very simple. Even a six year old would understand, why can't you or Hamas? Perhaps you should consider putting the blame squarely where a 13 yo Palestinian girl whose entire family was killed puts it. Right on Hamas. Very, very simple. Very, very correct.
