All of the above.........
Bloverk, if you want to talk, we are here, but if you need a break it is understandable. The door will always be open. Subdjoe is keeping the campfire going and I'll fetch berries (full of anti-oxidants) !!

I know how you feel, Moondog. A voice crying in the wilderness. You are trying to stem the tide of emotion and feelings with fact. A difficult and thankless task. Democrats really win on sound bites, not sound policy. I mean, think about it, it is all emotion for them. It's for the children. It's a woman's body. We must help the poor. We need to stimulate the economy. We must give everyone a home. Sound bites. You can not explain sound policy principles and economic ideas with a sound bite. That is why Republicans are where they are right now. There is no other explanation for why Lynn C. Woolsey has held her job for 16 years. The woman is incompetent and I somehow doubt she is the only one.

It's similar to the way liberals felt after 9/11. Saber rattling, false patriotism, and fear mongering was the drumbeat that rallied support for a huge mistake of a war that still continues to this day. Not to mention having to live with this: Even though the image is lost on the internet, what would the reaction be if a single Conservative put out something similar about Obama? You have no shame. You are what is wrong with this nation.

moondog, bolverk, whatever...When I read the nomination results today I was surprised that you didn't get a vote or two for #2, or #5 and I'm guessing it is because of your, well, um, "directness." Yeah, thats good. Oddly, I felt bothered that you didn't get a mention for your work since you DO post a lot of information and seem to be very knowledgeable about many subjects. If only you could soften the delivery? Anyway, while you can be well, you know... for the most part you've been respectful (as much as one can expect) to me and I hope you continue. We all have our down days! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know you don't give a ---- what I think or feel... I know. If more people lived their lives by the principles of Thomas Paine, not only would we have more honesty, Obama would never have been elected. Of course, neither would McCain. Neither were the best choice for this country. I quote, "He who dares not offend cannot be honest." Thomas Paine. I will never be less then direct. Anything else is wasting time.

moondog, it's not really as matter of one being honest, it's the delivery of the message. I believe if I really want to get a point across it's much more effective to explain it in a way that the other party WANTS to listen to, and get engaged with. If I had said STFU, or called you a mooncalf, or a--hole etc (you get the idea), would we still be debating? I would guess not, or the dialog would be wasted on hurtful quips and anger, and consequently the original intent would be lost.

The only anger I have is directed straight at the problem. Washington D.C., which over the last 70 years or so has crossed a line they were never intended to cross. It has damaged this nation, possibly beyond repair.
The income tax is not only flawed, it has caused more strife amongst our citizens then any other issue. It has become a political football, back and forth. And our government was never intended to steal straight from our paychecks. In fact, income taxes would have caused another war in the time this country was created. It is the least effective way for the government to have a steady flow of cash and the most effective way to turn our citizens against each other, creating even more special interest groups.
