Good link, thanks. The '60s were almost two different decades for the price of one. The last 3 or 4 years were VERY different from the first part, culturally, politicaly, economicaly.
Remember the "magic cube" flash bulbs? Little cube with 4 flash bulbs in it? Ever take one apart? Ingeious little device. Each bulb had a spring loaded armature that, when released, would strike a primer of some sort and set off the magnesium threads in the bulb. I'm VERY glad I was wearing gloves when I was figuring that out.

I remember those... had a little Kodak at some point that used them. I disassembled a couple, after they were full expended , and they were indeed a marvel of design.

Yeah, well I had see the little tab on the camera that came up and pushed SOMETHING in the cube to set it off. I had to find out what it was. Couldn't quite tell from the used ones, so I had to take apart a new one.
Gawd, can you still get 1216 or 110 film cartridges anymore?

like a miniture claymore ;D LOL Well there had been a non-lethal personal defense gizmo that used magic cubes. A little reflector dish that the cube went into. It would trigger all four at once. The idea was that by setting it off in the thugs face he would be blinded for long enough for you got beat feet and get out of dodge.
