Lately it seems every time I turn around these folks are declaring yet another spare the air day. The 'no burn' alert was supposed to expire at noon today, now they've gone and declared the alert in effect until noon tomorrow. www.sparetheair.org/I'm really getting tired of these nanny state bans on this and bans on that. Maybe I should just burn my logs anyway out of protest. Next they'll tell us we can't mow our lawns with gas powered mowers anymore and must buy an electric mower. Then they'll try to enforce mowing hours so we don't overload the grid.

Ok, I don't get it, maybe I'm on the dense side today. What does the Orlando Magic's mascot have to do with this?

When I was a child way back when, my grandparents would burn their garbage in a big metal drum and it wasn't uncommon. They lived in the country in Petaluma. Imagine...

I think I'll load up the Weber kettle with some good mequite charcoal and grill the two grass fed Angus New York steaks that are waiting in the fridge for me.... on the walkway at the base of my front steps overlooking the street.
The moisture in the air ought to make the fire EXTRA smokey.
