Hey saunterelle, did you know that a time line for withdraw was already set? Or do you not pay attention to what is going on in the World.

2010, as negotiated between the Iraqis and President Bush this year.

Iraq is costing us $10 billion a month. Can we really afford to support this effort until 2010? Have they negotiated how much of the Iraqis $79 billion they will contribute?

I am not sure about the distribution of costs. I just know that they have negotiated a time line for troop reductions, with all troops exiting the country by 2010, except perhaps a small contingency left behind for training purposes, similar to Kosovo.
That means our monetary commitment will began to recede over the next year. It also means we will have kept our word to the Iraqis in spite of the vitriol coming from the Democrats who would tuck tail and run out on their obligations to another nation.
The simple fact is this. We have not had a terrorist attack on our soil in nearly 2,600 days. I would say that is a damn good track record of safely guarding this nation. You never hear anyone say that, now do you?

That is what I like about you jgaffney, you understand exactly what the problem is. Once we went in, with over an 80% approval from Congress, we could not afford to back out early like we did in Vietnam. That is what pisses me off about Democrats, they don't understand these type of commitments.
