Yes.. tax it like alcohol and tobacco. And do any of you get just how far people are going to dodge those taxes that already exist? And if you legalize it, I guess you should make being under the influence legal as well? While it makes sense at one level, the position of legalization / taxation completely disregards human nature and the realities of the situation. I gotta agree with you here TBD. What we don't see is an explanation of just how they're going to enforce the taxation of pot. If they legalize growing and selling it, how are they going to tax the street corner sales? I don't really thing the backwoods farms will go away either. They'll still operate, but only has a means to skip on paying taxes. Once legalized, how is it taxed? By potency? All marijuana is not created equal and ranges between 1% THC to almost 22% THC.
