As always, everything is about GWB. That is an obsession. And which bungled response was that? The one that ended all terrorist attacks for 7+ years?

I think the new name is more fitting as the World Trade Center included many cultures doing business in it. I agree saunterelle that "Freedom" tower is a reminder of Bush's bungled response.
Remember when they tried to rename French fries? That was ridiculous and so was the name "Freedom Tower". One World Trade Center will also remind everyone that we are of the world , not separate or exclusive.

Wrong again, world citizen. We are Americans. Proven to be more creative; resourceful and productive than any nation in history. We have no interest in dumbing down or slacking off to match the other wanna-be world powers. So tell me, what part did GWB bungle? Seen many airliners fly into buildings lately? And the reason why is 'cuz George Did It! Like it or not; admit it or not; mission accomplished!

Harpman1, the bungled response by bush was his promise to get resolve by capturing the 9/11 terrorist and bringing them to justice.
This wasn't accomplished. The only mission he achieved is the mess we are in today.
What is unpatriotic about renaming the tower? The terms "freedom" and "unpatriotic" are from the bush presidency. He used "freedom" to manipulate the country, the same with "unpatriotic". That is hogwash! One would think all those who fell for it would wake up to find he had sold you out and now you have nothing. Now, that is unpatriotic.

Very well put Mink. Bush could not fulfill his promise to America which was to capture Osama and either kill him or bring him to justice.

Yeah, that would have been a wise use of resources. Send 250,000 soldiers to find a dead guy(Bin Laden)just so you'll feel better, or remove the single most dangerous maniac in the mideast while sending an unmistakeable message to his ilk: don't screw with us!
And what mess? Iraq war won; Democrats trying to take credit; enlistments up; military more experienced and capable than in 30 years. Some mess!

I'll go on the record, in fact I may already be on the record, as saying "Freedom Tower" was a stupid name. Kindof like "liberty cabbage" in WWI. Just call it World Trade Center. That is the best memorial that can be. Likewise "One World TC" is a stupid name. Smacks of the intellegencias and glitteratis push to equalize everything and pull everyone down to the lowest level.

Yep, words like "freedom," "patirot," and "victory" are bad. That's why Barack Hussein Obama has never used them. I'm sure you mentally challenged libeals would prefer "International Peace Center" or "Multi-Culti Center of the World." Let's stop worrying about what a building will be called and let those in New York decide how they want to rename the place.
