Can someone more familiar with Democratic party politics remind me why he was selected as the VP?

A few days ago the swine flu was less than a dozen in the US....now it is over 100. I don't think VP Biden means any harm in his advice and he did say, "that's just me"......so if you want to take your chances, go for it! It isn't manitory to stay off planes or inhibit travel anywhere.

Can someone more familiar with Democratic party politics remind me why he was selected as the VP? Because he is so bland and stupid that he made Dear Leader with all his "Look"s "ahhh"s and pauses look good. The straight man for the comedy team, you might say.

Can someone more familiar with Democratic party politics remind me why he was selected as the VP? He was chosen for VP for his experience as a ranking member of the foreign relations committee.

Biden was correct. You don't want to be in confined areas using recirculated air when someone had Swine Flu/H1N1/H1N1 Virus A/Mexican Flu. That is just common sense to me.
But what does this really say about this administration? Is Biden dumb? Or is Obama dumber for selecting him to be VP?

I don't think VP Biden means any harm in his advice and he did say, "that's just me"......so if you want to take your chances, go for it! Right, but what people like Dumas here and yourself apparently are FAILING to grasp, is that annually 36,000 people die in America from flu. Every year, from the "Satndard ole flu bug" 1,000 per year alone in LA county, yet not one is ever reported nor is a Government induced hysteria put into play every flu season. This strain is relatively weak, so when the annual number in the US reaches 36K ...maybe then...MAYBE we should all go panic like old Dumas and his boss and the rest of the clowns at the cdc.. I did however LAUGH MY A$$ off as the VERY VERY "PRO Obama" Press corps tore the White House spokesgoon to shreds and the rest of the corp, laughed loudly at him...when he said..."Well what Mr. Biden meant to say" he and Obama both have a ALOT of people around to tell us what they "Meant" to say now then don't they?

He was chosen for VP for his experience as a ranking member of the foreign relations committee. Right.... 36 years in the Senate with time on the committee that oversees the budget for the State Department and has first cut on treaties. That makes him a real expert on foreign policy. This administration, with Barack (a rookie), Joltin' Joe (a REMF) and Hillary (another REMF), all with a penchant for style over substance, in charge of our foreign policy is just downright scary.

While we are on the subject.... why were the VP and any of his cabinets members chosen?
Biden - for his foreing policy experience? Geithner - for his experience at preparing tax returns? Napolitano - for her experience controlling the southern border? Clinton - for her experience at being the wife of a president?
Let's face it folks. We have a bunch of children running our nation.
The other night I saw this kid on CNN. He was being interviewed as a hero for standing up to the evil Condi Rice. They showed snippets of video to support his points.
Then I saw the full video on youtube and it showed who really got taught a lesson:
