I remember it, quite well. I was heading into high school that fall.

When I first was breaking into the business in the late 70's the lessons of Newhall were being taught, in earnest. I was still teaching them twenty five years later. The lessons that law enforcement, and the citizen who chooses to own / carry for self defense for that matter, can take away from that dark day are vitally important to this day nearly forty years later.

That those lessons are so crucial mitigates the awful cost only so much.

The worthless piece of shit should have taken the same coward's course as his partner did and blown his own head off that day. Would have saved the taxpayers a lot of money and brought the families closure a lot sooner.
