Great video! I was looking for my dad in there among the drunken Marines. But he was still on Guam and didn't make it back until 1946.
Edited to add: Shortly thereafter, my mom started having babies.
Keep 'em coming!

Great video! I was looking for my dad in there among the drunken Marines. But he was still on Guam and didn't make it back until 1946. Keep 'em coming! If I can find 'em, I'll post 'em. Not a whole lot out there. That one I went through links in three blogs to get to. I love the guy holding the woman upright on the hood of the car (Jeep?) like a hood ornament. Kind of killed Hotel Street, VJ Day did. That is another fascinating bit of hidden history. I'm still trying to find one V-J Day photo, pretty sure it was taken in San Francisco, a sailor up on a statue is handing a near naked (bottomless, and maybe topless) woman down. I had seen it once online, and once in PBS special about the end of WWII.
