Change? Oh really?

Well, Barry has chosen a career machine politician as his running mate. Good old Joe Biden. Born in '48, prep schools all the way, poli sci major, then law school. Been in the US Senate since '73. Yep, good old Joe. Never met a cause he didn't bleed for, and has worked steadily to create a stronger central government.

And now Barry "change at any cost" Obama has picked him to be a heartbeat way from the presidency. Hmmm....someone whose only campaign message is "Change!" picks a sixth term Senator who can work the machine like a pro to keep the status quo to help bring about that great "Change."

It seems that career machine politicians get mindlessly elected no matter how lousy they are. Just look at people like Woolsey.

yeah, i was watching the news channels and they were all focused on biden's house (via helicopter) as if we were waiting for OJ to come out and surrender or something.

very nice house, btw. i don't know how well that will play to the "poor" voters seeing that mansion biden lives in. wow, it looks a lot like Graceland to me. how can a rich fella like that be in touch with the "working" families in america? hmmmm? well, they sure have attempted to portray mccain as a rich guy out of touch with the mainstream because he owns more than one house. i own two houses (one worth 2/3 of what i paid and the other now worth about 1/2) so does that make me a rich, elitist? but neither of my houses look anything like biden's or obama's or mccain's.

You got that right, TNG. Does anyone else find it ironic that all these uber-wealthy liberals keep passing themselves off as just plain folK? And GET AWAY with it too. I mean, can you see Hill, Bill, DiFi, Babs, Nancy, Joe, or any of the rest in faded jeans (real faded ones, not the store bought faded ones), dirt under their nails, a beer in hand, standing around a grill, talking and just kicking back with people like us? And Barry looks so out of place when he is among the common folk, like he is having to pick up rancid grease with his bare hands. later on at the big speech in springfield biden launched right into attack mode. he had the balls to say that he does just what we all do...sit around the kitchen table after the kids are in bed and talk about the troubles of the day and how we are going to pay the bills. i almost puked as the images i saw earlier of his "humble abode" popped back into my head.

pulheeeeeze! i guarantee his kitchen table is nothing like mine and i guarantee you he hasn't had to worry about paying bills at any time in the last 35 years or more. what an ass for saying something like that! but i'm sure mink and santurelly think he is sincere, though.

btw, me thinks that mink and santurelly have a little exaltion alliance going on.

Oh, there's a change, all right. But, not quite what we expected. This just in from The Hill:

Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean said Tuesday that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) will unveil “a different message for a different audience” in the general election campaign, as opposed to the one he used to capture the Democratic presidential nomination.

But he told a breakfast fundraiser for a fellow Vermont Democrat, Sen. Patrick Leahy, that Obama still has to rely on campaign workers knocking on doors and taking that message to prospective voters, just as they did during the primaries.

“The message is different but not the mechanism,” the former governor and head of the Democratic National Committee said when asked by The Hill if he disagrees with some senior Democrats like Rep. John Dingell of Michigan who say Obama needs to campaign differently in the fall than he did in the primaries.

“The same mechanism he used in the primaries will win in the general election,” Dean said. “Obviously, it’s a different audience. But he’s running an incredibly sophisticated campaign.”

Earlier, Dean told some 150 lobbyists that Michelle Obama “hit a home run” with her speech to the convention Monday night.

But he added, “This election is not going to be about great speeches. It’s going to be about having people knocking on doors, not once but two, three and four times. This is how Barack Obama won the primaries. He’s going to take that model and use it for the entire country.”

He warned, as Dingell and others have, that Republicans will unleash a barrage of “dirty” ads against Obama and his running mate, Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, after they are nominated. To counter that, he said, Democrats must convince voters to cast their ballots early and “lock up 30 percent of the votes.”

UNBELIEVABLE! Doesn't Dean know this is the age of the Internet, that everything you say will be broadcast in minutes? Barry will change his message? To what?

I particularly like the part where Dean urges Democrats to vote early. Don't give those wascally Wepublicans time to change your mind with some facts!
