Just ran into a person over on the PD forum that did not know that Kennedy had the highest tax cuts in modern times, which he proposed before his assassination, and were made law with the Revenue Act of 1964.
My point was that Democrats try to equate themselves with Kennedy all the time, yet, out of the other side of their mouth they say Republican Tax Cuts are bad and taxes need to be raised.
Seems to me that Republicans are more like JFK then the Democrats are. They Democrats are just abusing this name.

And just how will Se, Obama cut the taxes of 95% of workers and their families.
Right from his very own website:
[The Obama plan is a tax cut. His middle class tax cuts are larger than the loophole closers and rollbacks that he has proposed for families making over $250,000. According to the Tax Policy Center, the Obama plan would reduce taxes as a share of the economy to less than 18.2 percent - the level of taxes that prevailed under President Ronald Reagan. The Obama plan pays for these tax cuts by cutting spending overall. Obama’s spending cuts include responsibly ending the war in Iraq, limiting payments to high-income farmers, cutting subsidies for private plans in Medicare, reforming student loans, cutting earmarks to at least the level they were in 1994, ending no-bid contracting, and phasing out unnecessary and duplicative programs. He will also support pay-as-you-go budget rules and a constitutionally acceptable line-item veto to cut pork-barrel spending. Overall, Barack Obama’s budget will reduce the deficit relative its current level and its realistic future trajectory.]
1. Ending the war in Iraq 2. Limiting payments to high-income farmers 3. Cutting subsidies for private plans in Medicare 3 Reforming student loans 4. Cutting earmarks to at least the level they were in 1994 5. Ending no-bid contracting 6. Phasing out unnecessary and duplicative programs.
I nearly ruined a keyboard with coffee on #4 and #6

Obama will cut taxes for 95% of working class families. The President does not have the power to cut or increase taxes. The President only has the power to approve of or disapprove of Bills regarding the raising of revenue. He has ten days to act, no signature is the same as signing if the ten days expires. Or, he can mark the bill up (line item veto) and send it back to congress for reconsideration. Civics 101.

If elected, Obama will cut taxes for 95% of working families. Right from his website and and a done deal if he is elected. www.barackobama.com/taxes/index.phpYes, Obama will cut the taxes for at least 95% of working families. What he's not stating is, he will have to the taxes of most working people to pay for all of his social programs and then lower the taxes of 95% of working families by funneling back $500 to $1,000 in chump "Change." This is the type of "Change" I don't need. Has Sen. Obama mentioned anything about amending the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)?

Obama will cut taxes for 95% of working class families. I'll believe it when I see it. Meanwhile, the Dems will not renew the reduced dividend rates and so by default our taxes will increase. Since some of that "95%" own stocks, the measly $500 tax cut per individual that Obama CLAIMS he will cut will be offset by higher dividend taxes.

reminds me of those "STORE CLOSING, EVERYTHING MUST GO, PRICES SLASHED UP TO 75%" sales that you see. they mark everything up 200 percent and then cut them 75% to give the illusion that you're getting a deal.
obama WILL cut taxes as promised AFTER he raises them and all the lemmings will PRAISE him for it.
