National Crime Victim SurveyTable 9 is interesting, as is table 10. What I have trouble figuring out is how the CDC MMWR of 3 Oct, 2003 (I think it was 3 Oct, I know that Oct and 2003 are correct) which made the claim that firearms were used in about a quarter of all violent crimes and this report which says 8%. That is a HUGE drop. Although the 22% of violent crimes involving the use of weapons here does match closely with that MMWR. Kind of makes you wonder if CDC just lumped all weapons together as firearms. And if you take a look at this: Progress of shall issue you see that even as more states made it easier for honest citizens to carry, the trend in violent crime was down, contrary to the dreams and fantasies of the anti-civil rights lobby.

Joe, check the syntax on your "Progress of shall issue" link. You need to remove the """ to make the link work.

If you go to the Gun-Nuttery website and look at the graphic for 2011, you can see that Illinois and Michigan are the last holdouts that will not issue a CCW permit. That means that the handgun crime rate must be plummetting in those 2 states, right? Wrong! Also, California stands with our liberal bretheren in the Northeast as a "may issue" state. Arizona is looking better and better!

And the liberal anti-civil rights lobby will continue to ignore the real world and keep claiming that only agents of the State (and a few select worthies like DiFi, Sean Penn, and the like) should be allowed any access to firearms.
