I am under 45 years old,

I love the outdoors,

I hunt,

I am a Republican reformer,

I have taken on the Republican Party establishment,

I have many children,

I have a spot on the national ticket as vice president with less than two years in the governor's office.

Of course TR had also, by that point...

** been a state Assemblyman in New York for three years
** owned and managed a large ranch in the Badlands of the Dakotas
** Member and later President of the US Civil Service Commission 1889-1895
** 1895-1897 Commissioner of Police, City of New York
** 1897, Assistant Secretary of the Navy... #2 civilian in the Navy Department command structure.
** 1898, raised and commanded a regiment of volunteer cavalry, served in combat with distinction (awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously) in Cuba during the Spanish American war
** 1898, elected Governor of New York at the age of 40.

Let's contrast with Sarah Palin...

** Member of the council, City of Wasilla 1992-1996 (remember Lynn Woolsey was a mere city council member when she ran for and was elected to her current (lifetime) seat in Congress.

** Mayor, City of Wasilla, 1996-2002, head of government for one of the larger cities in the state. Oversaw budgeting and city government operations.

** Chair, Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission 2003-2004. This body is responsible to oversee oil and gas drilling and production within the state, as well as a number of other facets related to natural resources and state lands.

** Elected Governor of Alaska 2006, at age 42... the same age at which TR suceeded to the presidency following the assassination of William McKinley.

Then there are other similarities what with them both being avid about the outdoors, hunting, fishing etc.
