My dad taught us to shoot when we were in Boy Scouts. I was hitting targets at 50 yds when I was 8. There is nothing that prevents a kid from learning gun safety early, and developing his/her skills as a shooter.

My father took me to NRA safety classes when I was 12,he made sure all of his children (3 boys 1 daughter) knew how to handle a gun safely

Yep, you know that, I know that. But the main stream media still buys and propagates the Big Lie from the anti-civil rights lobby that kids are incapable of learning. Actually, they spread the Big Lie that only law enforcement and military are capable of it.

Have you watched Top Shot on Discovery TV I think? Speed and accuracy with all kinds of weapons. It's interesting how weak hand gun pistols target shooting is at forty to fifty feet. I just have a rifle.
