Actually, your last post does not change my opinion. I moderate on a different board. And what you have done with this thread would likely get you banned from the site, or at least a stern warning. You were wrong on this account, plain and simple, at least by moderator standards I have seen. And I have been around a long, long time, in internet terms.[/quote Moderators and forums vary from forum to forum and I suppose you know this already. From moderators standards I have seen, this infraction would have called for an immediate ban. I, too have been participating in other forums/chat rooms for years, know the rules enough to know they all vary. I don't feel I was wrong. In fact, if I let it go, this kind of interaction may leave doors open to mirror the PD forums, which is what we were all getting away from.

"I don't feel I was wrong. "
I'm thinking you over reacted. Not by much, but some. I don't know if you PMed him, but in my opinion that should have been your first - and only - step. Not drag it into a public discussion.

Mink, that is complete garbage (notice that I didn't go with my initial feeling and say horseshit) and you know it. This is typical leftist thinking that everyone needs to be protected from everything, that no one can be trusted, and that it is up to some outside authority needs to impose some preemptive restrictions on all of us. (funny how the left will wail and moan about "the Bush Doctrine" and its idea of preemtive strikes, but push its own 'preemtive strikes" against our freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, free exercise of religion, and right to keep and bear arms)
I am going to put on my moderator hat and suggest that we have flogged this poor dead horse enough. I don;t like equine tartar.
added: Note that I am NOT closing this thread, I'm saying that I think we are at the point of diminishing returns.

Well, I think I did the best for the forum, given the circumstance. Everybody saw it and no one addressed it. Although some saw it as a non-issue, it had the potential of a problem, similar to the spam issue. I agree with you, this needs to close with civility.

My question: When will I be muzzled?

My question: When will I be muzzled? When you come into my house uninvited. ;D In that case expect to be looking down the muzzle of SOMETHING.

For the record, I've received no PM from anyone regarding my comments.
I would point out that I both moderate and administrate at other boards, and on those boards matters of moderation and administration are never carried out in public threads.
If someone wants to ban me... knock yourself out. It's a big Internet. My comments in the post under discussion were based in a discussion of fact in retort to post after post of opinions straight out of the political gutter, and were generalized in rhetorical intent. I did not "blow a fuse" as the moderating staff seems so bent to (insultingly) believe, nor did I single out any poster by name.
In that regard and based on those facts, there has been no "infraction". I believe I am owed a public apology for the disparaging public remark that I "blew a fuse", and I think the moderating staff needs to discuss board administrative matters behind closed doors.
That should close this issue quite civilly, thank you.

I expect to be muzzled soon, as my comments tend to "rile" others on the site. Joe; not THAT kind of muzzle! (Love it!)

Since you hold positions of administrator and moderator in other venues, I'm sure you uphold them with the same responsibilty and respect you expect here.

I do... which is why this entire thread is so shocking and disturbing to me.
No one said anything about banning me, however you repeatedly assert an "infraction" on my part and that you wanted to deal with it. That infers some type of punishment will be forthcoming. On a web board that equals either suspension or banning. Simple as that.
Obviously there is no apology forthcoming.
