Bummer for him that he had to be in that situation at all, but outstanding resolution of what could just have easily gone other way. I'd wager these idiots would have eventually left him dead in a ditch someplace.
One bad guy at room temperture, one wounded and on his way to 25 to life and the third sitting in the hoosegow facing the same.
I call that a win for the good guys.

To bad the second guy didn't get a toe tag as well. It would have saved a considerable amount of money. As things stand, the people will likely have to pay the hospital bill and the cost of incarceration. Am I cruel to think that way?

You guys don't get it! Those two dead guys were simply trying to earn some money in these hard times.
There's a genius sitting on death row right now. His crime was successfully ripping off the dope dealers with his buddies and on their way back to L.A. our lad gets greedy. Einstein is sitting in the back seat and on the freeway decides to cap his friends (what are friends for?) to keep the dope and the money, so guess which one he shoots first?
THAT is why he's on death row today, supporting whole groups of lawyers appealing his right to be stupid by killing the driver first.
