Although he has repeatidly denied his association with "The New Party," it seems that Sen. Obama hasn't been quite honest with us. "When Barack Obama successfully ran for the Illinois State Senate in 1996 on the Democratic Party ticket, he was endorsed by two interrelated organisations, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Chicago branch of the New Party." ____________________ "“Fusion” was rendered ineffective by a Supreme Court decision on 28 April 1997 written by Justice William H Rehnquist, leading to the collapse of the New Party and similar efforts nationwide." ________________ newzeal.blogspot.com/2008/08/obama-file-22-barack-obama-danny-k.htmlI find it quite remarkable that we are on the verge of electing a full blown Socialist as our next president. Should we sound taps for the former Republican Party or just let them hang out to dry like they did to us.

I vote for the latter. The days of the Rockefeller wing of the Republican Party, which gave us Ike, Nixon, Ford and both Bushes has got to end. I am tired of their version of "bi-partisainship" which is code for "let's do what the Democrats say".
The Democratic party has moved steadily leftward since 1968. Barack is way farther left than even George McGovern was in 72. Yet the main arms of the Republicans have moved left as well, leaving a vast population of what Nixon rightly called the "Silent Majority" to twist in the wind under a burden of ever bigger government and ever higher taxes.
A pox on all their asses. I saw we throw each and every one of them out of office and start over.

Let's see if this can explain it: "Now, some tend to confuse us with the opposition in our tactics. Nothing could be further from the truth . . . let me delineate . . . just how one supposedly true conservative claimed that political direction and position have switched. Suppose one had been on the LEFT of the road. Well, you must bear in mind the road has shifted over. Thus, according to this fellow, the new road goes through his OLD position, he's in the MIDDLE now. OKAY, suppose he used to be RIGHT of center, the road goes the OTHER WAY for the conservative, right? And the RIGHT SIDE of THAT old road is the LEFT Side of the same old road going the OTHER WAY. So you find when the road shifts to its RIGHT it goes through the LEFT spot OR its OLD RIGHT spot making THAT the middle of the road, too. UNDERSTAND? _______________________ ""Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us."
