just finished watching the debate on tivo. where was that john mccain during the first 2 debates?
finally, he came out swinging and swinging hard throughout. obama may have kept a relatively cool demeanor but you gotta admit he was sure bloodied up tonight.
after all that hemming and hawing he still wouldn't directly answer the questions that mccain brought up re: bill ayers, mccain being likened to george wallace, education, etc. obama is a good speechifyer and that's all.
i bet obama wishes he never ran into "joe the plumber."

I agree that McCain was strong out of the gate, but after 30 minutes or so he seemed to hit a brick wall. Actually, it was around the time he brought up Bill Ayers. Obama had clear, direct answers to the ridiculous accusations that he "pals around with terrorists" or that he had some influence over ACORN's actions. McCain kept harping (often incoherently) on the personal points and it made him look divisive, petty, and out of touch on the issues Americans care about.
Not one news network thought McCain won the debate, not even FOX. They all said he did better that in the first 2 debates but was still no match for Obama. His policy simply doesn't benefit the average middle class American worker.

He had clear answers my a$$.
HE LIED!!
He admitted to LEADING TWO TRAINING SESSIONS FOR ACORN. HE GAVE 832,000 TO ACORN "supposedly" for "Lighting and Rigging"(the election) funny he didn't mention either of these things when speaking about ACORN
And his dealing with Bill Ayers are FAR more extensive then what he answered.
Keep your head in the sand, he is perfect.

This was Mccain's best of the three debates, but I hardly call it a bloodied mess for Obama.
As Mccain attacked, Obama answered...even with Mccain's interruptions, Obama answered with structured dialogue. Mccain was so frustrated under the cool facade that he called Obama, "Senator Government" accidently......he stumbled in words.
You could see Mccain seeming edgy at times, but as it ended, I was happy to see him smile at Obama and go up to him at the end and say "Good job", "good job", "good job"........

Barack did lie repeatedly. His biggest whopper, one that he had repeatedly endlessly and not been called on, is his continuing claims of making line item cuts in the budget.
Sorry, but in the words of Al Gore, there is no controlling legal authority to do that.
Going to cut taxes for 95% of all Americans. Pretty cool when 40% or so don't pay income taxes at all because they are under the minimum threshold. Buried in his plan is the notion that he'll triple the Earned Income Tax Credit for those folks.... "cutting" their taxes by giving them free money they didn't earn.
Whopper after whopper. No one calls him on it effectively. McCain is, I think to honorable and thinks he is in the Senate with his "friends" and the press has given Barack a complete pass on all his whoppers. Anyone who calls him out is immediately branded a racist.
Yeah it's going to be a great four years.

Factcheck.org and many other sites of that nature will catch any lies or misstatements, as they have in past debates.
Although Mccain has an honorable past and one to be admired, I think it just isn't enough after the long eight years of a poorly managed administration.
