Main Stream Media Strikes Again

In the debate last night, to refute claims from Sen. McCain, Sen. Obama claimed that supporters at a Palin rally in Scranton, PA, yelled "Kill him" when Palin mentioned Obama's name. Now, I doubt that Obama was at that rally to witness the outcries, so he must have based his claim on reports from the media.

Well, today it comes out that the claims were fabricated. The Scranton Times-Tribune has this:

The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.

The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Obama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him."

News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.

Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.

“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.

He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

However, how does one unring the bell? Obamma makes the claimm on national TV, there's no followup in the MSM, so the claim stands as fact. Despicable!

Obama is a liar, just like Singleton. I thought Democrats hated liars. Wasn't that their primary argument against Bush, he lied?

Perhaps his biggest lie, repeated again during last nights debate, is that he will "go through the budget, line by line, looking for wasteful programs and we'll cut it".

That is an outright and bald faced lie. There is no line item recission authority. He simply can't do that and for him to imply he is going to is utterly ridiculous.

That McCain did not call him on it, and has not ever done so, is just plain stupid on his part. That the 527 media isn't calling him on it only further proves just how deeply they are in the tank for Barack.
